1./ The return of the exorcist! As an atheist I'm curious why the LGBTQ+ campaign for a ban on so-called "conversion therapy" has such a fixation about exorcism. They make it sound like mainstream Christianity gave up this bizarre practise decades ago. Have I got news for them...

2./ A peek at the website of the Anglican church's @dioceseoflondon site reveals it provides helpful advice on the paranormal. "Only rarely is exorcism involved", it says reassuringly. Phew. So is this Stonewall-backed campaign against ALL such exorcisms? london.anglican.org/kb/advisers-on…
3./ If they want THAT shouldn't they say? I wish myself belief in demons didn't exist at all but it's not my job to tell the religious what to believe. Maybe the campaign will demand the Vatican cancels its annual course to teach exorcism to 200+ priests? bbc.co.uk/news/world-eur…
4./ And what about those Muslims who believe in possession by jinns and consult "healers" to have them exorcised? Are all those backstreet exorcisms to be banned too? Apparently not. The ban will only be against exorcism for "gay demons".😂👇 bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01…
5./ The irony is that belief in possession and the supernatural thrives in the LGBTQ+ movement itself. It encourages troubled teenagers to believe their bodies and minds have been possessed by the wrong biological sex and advocates ways to remedy that as dangerous as exorcism.👇
6./ Norman Spack, a pioneer of the affirmative model that effectively says kids who say they're trans must be transitioned ASAP even sounds like an evangelic preacher. Here he is promoting a bona fide miracle too. 18 year olds getting surgery that will fool gynaecologists.👀🤦♂️👇
7./ I don't think it's an accident that former evangelical Christians (and existing ones like @JayneOzanne) are so prominent in this campaign. I'm glad for them they've given up shame about their sexuality but they haven't given up their susceptibility to magical thinking.
8./ The truth is while there are indeed nutjobs in every faith who promote weird practises the worst sort of homophobic exorcism is happening right now in gender identity clinics where teenagers who are troubled, many of them gay, are being fast-tracked to transition.
9./ They're told they can be redeemed by potions, sorry puberty blockers, and the pain of surgery before being reborn in a new form. That's the REAL "conversion therapy" that should be a crime. It makes my head spin that it's not. #stoptransingawaythegay👇
