As reported by Delhi Police, there's a decline of 16.86% in total IPC crimes registered during 2020 as compared to 2019. Similarly, there is a decline of 12.82% in total IPC crimes registered in first 2 months of 2021 as compared to corresponding period of 2020:GK Reddy, MoS Home
As on 31st Dec 2019, the total available capacity of all prisons in the country was 4,03,739 as against which 4,78,600 prisoners were lodged in them. Out of this, 3,30,487 were undertrial prisoners: MoS home G Kishan Reddy in a written reply in Rajya Sabha
