The #StopClymer hashtag is trending again. Can anyone explain how *some* ppl in the ostensibly most oppressed minority on the planet suddenly gain MSM notoriety (not to mention actual political power) when they proclaim a new gender identity?

Some of the oppressed ppl with inexplicably elite careers & influence--who've received years of relentless media fawning--are now complaining about a single TV episode that might include a few detransitioned women on camera.

Such nuance, compassion, & wisdom expressed by the woman who made this video.

In the 1st minute, she says her aim is NOT to make life harder for those who benefit from medical transition. *Most* detrans say this...yet they are still too often shut down.
It's in everyone's interest to minimize regretful detransition; that people be as certain as possible before embarking on irreversible hormone & surgical interventions. If some adults regret, it's patently obvious a slow, deliberate approach is needed for minors.
At 8:00: "I later found out my therapist didn't think transitioning was an appropriate step for me, or good for my wellbeing, but she didn't tell me that while I was taking those steps because she was worried about losing her license."

This person was her therapist for 7 years.

Prominent trans writer thinks it's bad that a major media outlet is finally covering detransitioners, after YEARS of non-stop coverage of trans "struggles & triumphs". Unless you've been living under a rock the last 5-7 years, you couldn't have missed the trans coverage.
...and that's not even mentioning major TV series featuring "trans kids" on Netflix, HBO, and TLC. Let's get real.
And Boylan uses the usual trope that detrans are "rare" (no one knows how many there are) and are "outliers." Advocating for the needs and wants of a beleagured group of "outliers" is AOK until it interferes with your narrative...

...She never had dysphoria & wishes she had had more skillful therapy before embarking on medical transition. Sympathy & even some support for more "gatekeeping" is expressed by a few trans members
of the FB group.

But...surprise! Perhaps the most well known US gender doctor --
--Johanna Olson-Kennedy, shows up in thread, taking the opportunity to compare removal of healthy breasts or genitals to an appendectomy. (There's just a *slight* difference: Appendix-removal-regret is not a thing.)

A pernicious rumor started by Jack Turban is that my daughter was "sent" to a horse farm to isolate & "deprogram" her. Nope. Chiara CHOSE her internship, an experience she found enriching. And far from being isolated, she made new friends & became an accomplished horsewoman.

This week Pres. Biden's nominee for Asst. Health Secretary, Rachel Levine, was grilled during confirmation hearings. The MSM is unified in condemning Sen. Rand Paul, who pressed Levine (to no avail) to opine on under-18 medical transition. 1/n
It's no secret Levine is a proponent of the "affirmative" model of pediatric transition, as demonstrated in the video described in this quoted tweet. Among other things, Levine thinks teens living on the street should be prescribed cross-sex hormones. 2/n

Levine also says in the 2017 speech that under-18s can and should in some cases be allowed to undergo gender surgeries. But Levine is hardly alone in the "affirmative" clinician crowd... 3/n
