Bangladesh has always recognised Genocide Day. It's NOT something new. But they have NOT recognised it as a Hindu Genocide. Her letter does NOT state that.
It's appalling that the Hindus world over cannot understand the difference between the two. Until Bangladeshi PM gets those words out on paper--recognizing the selective targeting of Hindus in 1971--there's NO reason to celebrate or congratulate anyone.
The Hindu Genocides world over are getting lost & subsumed into NATIONALIST identities, which is the worst thing to befall Hindus. It was NOT just a Bengali genocide. Hindu Marvadis of Bangladesh were murdered & raped as well.
If we are celebrating Sheikh Hasina's statement, it only goes to show how badly ignorant we are about our own place in the world & the work that remains to be done!
The tag #NeverAgain implies that you're DOING something that it never happens again. Whereas Hindus are still being persecuted in Bangladesh! Nobody is doing anything to fix that problem. Using hashtags doesn't change reality.

I have decided to tear down Audrey Truschke's work. Enough is enough. Expect a book shredding her book in the next 2 years.
The book that glorifies Aurangzeb.
Only someone who has read the original history of Islamic invaders will know exactly how repulsive it is. It takes a different level of spiritual work to stay sane after reading it.
But it's like they say: it's a thankless job but someone's gotta do it.
