Quick Thread on GA County Takeovers: In 2020, the GOP filed 60+cases contesting the election. Our judicial system rejected nearly all of them. GA's #SB202 is a workaround that could allow the GOP state leg to contest or sow enormous doubt into elections w/ zero judicial oversight
As @TindallSara has explained, there was already a process for low-performing counties that required judicial oversight of the State Election Board.

*No One Has Explained Why This Process Was Insufficient* Instead, all judicial oversight of SEB takeovers has been removed. ImageImage
FLAG: Worse, as #SB202 is currently written, it seems the State Election Board can circumvent the entire “performance review” process that folks are citing “on its own motion” and pursue extraordinary relief. (The relief being the suspension of the board or any official.) Image
