After a self-imposed SCK ban, 37 lured me in. To see #EdSer be a natural extension of their prior selves was great. To see Serkan be the man who loves Eda beyond reason, who changed from being a workaholic to dreaming about a family feels like a #tb to our #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆Serkan’s hurtful attitude towards Eda 29-35 was unbearable. Brain trauma doesn’t excuse this level of inconsistency. Flaunting Selin at will, insinuations about their physicality killed #EdSer and when he comes back after a random fight, I wanted Eda to leave #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆Even in 36, Serkan seems unworthy of Eda. After all the ways he hurt her, still whitewashing Selin’s crimes felt insensitive. Quickly turning towards a pregnancy arc put me off even more. There is no end to Eda’s suffering from this epic love #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆The intelligent writing in 37 redeems Serkan in many ways. He continually wishes to understand why Eda pulls away, seeks to spend time with her instead of belittling her emotions, cares for her in her illness, and for once admits Selin plays games. Hallelujah. #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆Selin’s cruelty knows no bounds. Emotionally manipulates everyone, and still tells Deniz he might now have a chance with Eda. Her mental sickness has been allowed to flourish for far too long and has really hurt audience engagement with #EdSer. #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆But it serves as a plot device to showcase Eda in her glory. She accepts her defeat graciously and makes way for Serkan to do the right thing, knowing he will never leave her otherwise. As an orphan, she cannot be the reason a child grows up w/o a father. #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆 Serkan, who can’t recall ever being w/t Selin, who loves Eda - his soulmate - can’t let her go and goes after her. Interestingly, this is the first ep he acted as someone who had brain trauma. His blackout isn’t just a panic attack. It may well be an aneurism #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆There’re many ways their deep connection was showcased this ep. Serkan’s misery at Eda’s rejection, Eda’s internalization of the truth, their ‘goodbye’ set to @TolanShaw “Gold” & finally, Eda’s heartbeat feeling Serkan, all together recreates #EdSer in meaningful ways. 👇

👆In addition, to have the supporting cast back to helping #EdSer Serkan getting wise counsel from #EnPir who justify their existence, Ayfer/Aydan united in loving their kids - all had an emotional intelligence sadly missing for a very long time #SenÇalKapımı 👇

👆I can only hope this intelligence is here to stay and the truth about Selin emerges. This one woman who seems to have no family of her own has wreaked havoc for far too long and it’s time to give her a fitting end. It’s time for Serkan to remain within himself #SenÇalKapımı 👇
