Seven Reasons Winners Keep Winning, Aside from Talent

///THREAD\\\
Winners create advantages that result in more victories.

They understand how to cultivate and build on these advantages to make the next success more likely.

As Vince Lombardi said:

"Winning isn't everything--but wanting to win is."
1. Good mood.

Everyone feels good about winning, and emotions affect performance.

Positive moods produce physical energy and the resilience to persist, while losers will use any excuse to give up.

The winner's exhilaration is contagious; the loser's gloom is toxic.
2. Stick with it.

Simply losers go home early, and winners stick around.

Because they stick around, they can build communities and create solidarity.

They are spending more time with like-minded winners and feeling good about what they can accomplish.
3. Learning.

Winners will discuss mistakes and accept constructive feedback; they understand they need this to improve.

Losers get defensive, don't want to hear about it, and avoid feedback.

Winners see the practice as the path to success; losers see it as punishment.
4. Freedom to focus.

Winners have fewer distractions; losers often punish themselves in their heads or take on too much.

Winners will say no 90% more often than they say yes, as they focus hard on the activities, they want to succeed in.
5. Support system.

Behind every high-performer, there is a team of friends, coaches, and other winners fueling motivation.

Winning enlarges the circle of support and attracts the right people.

Losing then complain and not learning erodes this support fairly quickly.
6. Momentum.

Winners create their own luck and gain access to networks that maintain their momentum.

Being connected allows you to get in early on new ideas and opportunities.

The more you win, the more opportunities appear.
7. Self-determination.

Winners have more control over their own destiny.

They inherently know that knowledge + action = skills.

With those skills, they either win or learn and keep moving forward.

Losers get caught waiting for approval or permission and never get started.

The Hound Of History

The Greyhound

///THREAD\\\
Greyhounds are the oldest purebred dog.

Dating to the time of the Pharaohs.

The first records of Greyhounds appear about 8,000 years ago.

In ancient Egypt, Greyhounds were revered as gods.

Only royalty was allowed to own them.
The ancient Greyhound is the original sighthound.

All sighthounds that we know today descended from the ancient Greyhound.

The Greyhound is the only breed of dog mentioned by name in the Bible.

King James Version, Proverbs, 30:29-31

How to stop fearing change and how to lead yourself and others through it.

//THREAD\\
To frame this thread lets start with this quote:

"Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like."

-Lao Tzu
In life, when you come up against a large or substantial change, you are more likely than not going to resist that change.

You will probably hesitate and think, "oh no, I don't want to do that."

It is the same within an organization as it is with your own habits.

9 unbelievably easy ways to run a successful team as a leader.

//THREAD\\
The best thing a leader can do is help others succeed.

"It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed." – Napolean Hill.

Making it easier for others to win helps you win.
Step 1: Who is in your team

The team makeup is the most important part to understand, but you don't always pick your team.

Therefore if the team doesn't possess the right skills, the leader must recognize the gaps and help upskill the team.

Maybe even recruit reinforcements.

This month marks one year since I started working at home due to the pandemic.

To celebrate one of the most productive years in my life, here are:

6 Key Tips For Working From Home

(Plus Some Bonuses)

//THREAD\\
To frame this thread, I wanted to start with this quote:

"Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important." -Stephen Covey

While working at home, it can be very easy to get sucked into busywork; this thread's points will prevent that.
1) Structure

When I started working from home, the first thing I considered was structure; the last thing I wanted was to get distracted.

Think about your schedule at the office, and replicate it at home.

This includes commute and breaks...

4 Steps To Becoming The Most Effective Leader Ever

//THREAD\\
I want to take you through my 4 step process to use in any work or project situation to help you become an effective leader.

This process has benefits outside of work in your day-to-day life as well.

I call it S.I.M.S:

Simplify
Inspire
Move
Support
Before we dive into the 4 steps, I wanted to share a quote that exemplifies what leadership is

"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader" -John Quincy Adams

This quote doesn't portray leadership as giving directions...
