9 unbelievably easy ways to run a successful team as a leader.

The best thing a leader can do is help others succeed.
"It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed." – Napolean Hill.
Making it easier for others to win helps you win.
Step 1: Who is in your team
The team makeup is the most important part to understand, but you don't always pick your team.
Therefore if the team doesn't possess the right skills, the leader must recognize the gaps and help upskill the team.
Maybe even recruit reinforcements.
Step 2: Clarify the work and roles
If a team member's roles are not clear, are you even a leader?
Not clarifying roles will cause a lot of wasted time, the duplicity of work, and effort...
It also leads to sub-standard work, with the wrong people working on the wrong tasks
It is essential to clarify who is responsible for what work early as a leader and as the work changes this needs constant reviewing.
Step 3: Communication is king
You have heard this before, so why do most leaders not communicate well?
Effective communication builds trust, so do it and give positive and constructive feedback when needed.
Manage conflict and don't let drama lower the morale of your team
Step 4: It is all about relationships.
You have to let your team get to know each other; you have to get to know your team.
If you treat your team as numbers in the system, you will see your results drop off...
Build solid relationships and an environment of trust so people can focus on the work and have fun getting their work done.
Don't be the manager with the "open-door" policy who always has their door closed or is always on the phone, give your people the access to you they need.
Step 5: Track Progress
How do you know where you are if you don't have a map?
Build-in systems to track your progress and celebrate milestones regularly.
Help the team take advantage of successes and allow key stakeholders to see how awesome you and your team are doing.
Step 6: Coach and improve
Everyone needs to be aware of their strengths and weakness but always focus on improving strengths before developing weaknesses.
You can have fellow team members support/mentor each other...
No single person has all the skills and knowledge for each issue that comes up
Strong leadership coupled with self-awareness within the team is key to developing skills and being successful
You get this type of self-awareness by having strong communication and relationships
Step 7: Have a problem-solving process
All teams face problems, and a leader's most important quality is how they lead a team through them
You need to have an agreed-upon process that can be as simple as Test-Learn-Adpat
This helps the team tackle and overcome those problems.
Step 8: Let your team be creative
All tasks and no innovation makes your team a boring place to play.
Creativity and innovation will save time, money and improve results
Let your team test, learn, and adapt new ideas to improve the processes they do daily, weekly, and monthly
Step 9: Celebrate and reward
You suck as a leader if you do not celebrate victories.
Many organizations do not adequately reward team successes
If you work in one of these places, don't accept that culture...
There are ways to reward people daily with a kind word and some team recognition.
Being a leader can be tough, especially in a poorly ran organization.
Your effective team-leading skills will set you apart from 90% of managers who just turn up each day.
Trust me, I know!

To frame these points, I wanted to share this quote:
"A leadership culture is one where everyone thinks like an owner, a CEO, or a managing director. It's one where everyone is entrepreneurial and proactive."
- Robin S. Sharma
1) Develop rituals and systems
All successful people have systems and rituals; this helps to provide a structure to your days
Making you focus on things you’re working on, if it’s important to you, you need to create a ritual around it.
