I’d be more willing to listen to your opinion on Starmer’s approval ratings if you didn’t spend the last 5 years trying to convince everyone that Corbyn was the most popular politician in contemporary British politics.
The thing is, pre-Corbyn the Labour Left had a very powerful argument: they had never been given the chance to run the show. They then took over and ran the party into the ground and destroyed their own integrity & credibility by cheerleading through every single disaster.
There’s no way to reset the clock and pretend you haven’t been given a crack of the whip, that it wasn’t an unmitigated disaster, and that you didn’t support the leadership uncritically throughout that period.
So forgive me if I don’t take your opinion that the Northern Independence Party (lmao) may pose a serious threat to Starmer, it’s still less than 2 years since you ridiculed a pregnant Jewish MP getting hounded out of your party by your ideological allies.
Imagine laughing your way through a dozen Labour MPs quitting over antisemitism, before a statutory body found the party guilty of unlawful racial discrimination, and then asking people to take the Lancashire Clowncar Circus Party seriously. Good luck with that folks.

I didn’t sign this letter, even though I agree with the sentiment, because there is nothing in my opinion that is still salvageable from the wreckage of left wing internationalism in the West. Those who stood by while this happened won’t be shamed by letters like this.
One needs only look at the people defending the Syrian Propaganda Superfriends. I will not make any attempts to appeal to the humanity of those who spent the last 10 years allied with genocide enthusiasts.
It was really only a matter of time before Novara Media figures started publicly engaging in apologism for the Chinese dictatorship, I suppose they had to get their kicks somewhere after spending so many years gaslighting Jews.
We’re at the explicitly dismissing human rights concerns stage of propaganda now. Mocking the very concept of liberal democracy doesn’t make your political opponents look like the extremists in this situation, let’s be clear on that.
To put names to it so there no vagueness here, Aaron Bastani and Michael Walker are doing the “Hitler made the trains run on time” argument from the left, using their platforms to whitewash the nature of a dictatorship committing genocide. It’s unconscionable.
The absolute zero moral quandry that an American feels about choices that could have lasting & devastating consequences for Iraqi and Afghan civilians. Who cares about stabilisation, de-mining etc when people like Vincent can't sleep at night because of a 2,500 troop deployment.
It's almost as if, actions in foreign policy have consequences, and actually trying to mitigate or avoid those consequences is incredibly difficult and not just a game for western pundits to invent meaningless terms and erase decades of political violence with sassy tweets.
For those at the back, Washington *has* been trying to withdraw from Iraq & Afghanistan for years, that's why they only hold such small numbers of US troops now. The rise of ISIS happened during Obama's term as he was trying to withdraw troops from Iraq.
The small yet vocal Western pro-Assad chorus effectively splintered western pro-Palestine solidarity camp into those that believe in human rights and those that don’t. Palestinian activists have been very vocal that pro-Assad groups don’t represent them, but the damage is real.
To their credit Palestinian student groups have organised effective boycotts and deplatformed those from this camp from their events, but there is a relentless war of words that always follows and they themselves become targets online for speaking out.
This fragmentation has continued, with leading activists who first started denying regime war crimes now turning to defend other atrocities alongside their allies in this camp, including many who were actively recruited by Russian state media.
I have a lot of Foreign Policy stuff I have to focus on for the next few days & I can't dedicate anymore time to responding to individual questions about trans rights and gender anymore. It's been 48 hours and I've only managed to eat one meal because of the relentlessness of it.
I have tried to kindly discuss things with people who respectfully want to debate the issue with me, and I have shown zero tolerance to those who want to spout hatred instead. But I have to move on to other things now else I will end up with no commissions completed for the month
I hope the experience of the last few days has shown people that you can't simply instigate a pile-on to someone with abuse in the hope that they change their opinions on sincerely held beliefs, and that you can't force people to apologise for things they don't feel sorry for.
I really am trying to be as respectful as possible, but I don't care if you've followed my career for 12 years, if you turn up in my mentions spouting anti-trans bigotry I'm going to block you forever without even feeling the slightest tinge of remorse. I hope this is clear.
If people want to follow me who disagree with me, the more the merrier. If people want to discuss my political views in an open and respectful manner, great! If people want to start slandering me as a misogynist, homophobe or attack trans people, I will block you immediately.
This is cleaning house time for me. This isn't the first time I've had to do it, I blocked all former friends or left wing allies that made excuses for antisemitism too.
