It was known as the "Malta-China Bridge", or #Macbridge for short. The company was registered in Hong Kong.

Accountants for 2 politicians in Malta named it as a source of funds for their Panama companies. Both firmly deny any wrongdoing.

Here is how things now look:

The name #Macbridge (along with #17Black) first emerged from an email discovered by a source of Daphne's in 2016 - indicating to her they were "at centre of the web" of suspected corruption. She sent a WhatsApp message to her son @mcaruanagalizia with the news.

In November 2018 - a year after Daphne was murdered - some brave sources helped identify 17 Black as the property of tycoon Yorgen Fenech. A year later he was arrested on his yacht and is accused of masterminding Daphne's murder.

But was the point of 17 Black? One clue came last year when more brave sources revealed it secretly financed & took £5m profit from a windfarm deal in Montenegro , also involving Enemalta, Shanghai Electric Power and energy minister Konrad Mizzi.

After receiving its $5m wind farm profits, 17 Black sent on $1m to a company (Dow's Media Co) in China. We tracked that down to businesswoman who runs this KFC franchise in Nanjing, China. She confirmed Dow's Media also set up by @Accenture consultant Chen Cheng.

As internal audits received, the whole windfarm project was pitched to Malta energy company Enemalta by this same @Accenture consultant Chen.
