As the Derek Chauvin trial begins, let’s back up for a second.

Why did Chauvin think he could kill George Floyd in the first place?

Why did he think that he had a right to do whatever he wanted with this Black man’s life and face no consequences?

Decades of reinforcement.

For too long, police have murdered and maimed our people without consequences.

The result? Police believe that they live above the law. Because in many ways, THEY HAVE BEEN.

That is exactly why we formed Real Justice – to change that. /2

We have been organizing day and night, crafting campaign materials, raising funds, and organizing volunteers to elect district attorneys across the country who WILL hold police accountable.

Our efforts are working: we’ve elected over a dozen district attorneys since 2017. /3

This is a big year for us. 

We are working to re-elect Philadelphia DA @DA_LarryKrasner and Portsmouth Commonwealth’s Attorney @AttyStepMorales.

We are also fighting to elect @TahanieNYC in Manhattan and @fatehinorfolk in Norfolk. /4

Why do you think that police groups are throwing millions of dollars into these races to try to stop us?
