Sen. Blackwell says the House "had no appetite" for the change. MAMAS ARE DYING. The #msleg's "lack of appetite" is literally killing mothers.
Meanwhile, in the House @RepZSummers has made a motion to recommit the Medicaid tech bill that would essentially instruct the Department of Medicaid to expand to those in the existing Medicaid gap. It will fail, AND we greatly appreciate her effort. #msleg
Saving lives AND BRINGING IN MONEY?! Pffffffft says the House Chairman, asks for members to oppose the motion to recommit. TO BE CLEAR THIS VOTE IS A VOTE FOR/AGAINST MEDICAID EXPANSION. They are taking a voice vote rather than a "real" vote. Roll call demanded. #msleg
Final vote FOR/AGAINST MEDICAID EXPANSION: 41 Y/77 N, motion to recommit fails. #msleg
