That one time I took magic mushrooms...

A thread
Preface: this is not advice, just a story

Do your research and use your own judgment if you decide to consume psychedelics

My experience wasn't *extremely* profound and was definitely not what I expected

Nonetheless, I believe it is worthy of a thread

Lets dive in
A group of 8-10 friends and myself planned a weekend trip to a cabin in the woods

Specifically to put ourselves in a good environment when we ingest the mushrooms

We booked the AirBNB

Drove up

Said hello to everyone

And our DJ buddy put on a small scale show for us
We sat around the dining room table most of the night

Ate chili

Had some drinks

Played card games

And prepared ourselves for the day ahead

Discussing what we would do to make the most of our 'trip'

First night: success
Next morning we woke up

Ate the classic eggs, bacon, and cinnamon rolls

We kept it light (as we planned to start our trip pretty early)

11 o clock rolled through and we were ready for takeoff

We measured out the goods

Blended them in a smoothie

And drank
First thought:

"I'm fucking freezing"

The actual temperature paired with the smoothie was a brutal combo

I started feeling sick

Wrapped myself in a huge blanket

And started to draw to take my mind off it

The 'sick' feeling kept on for a bit as the mushrooms took effect
My drawing started moving in and out

The walls started moving in and out

I was still freezing and sick

Felt like I had to puke, but didn't

My friends invited me outside

I hesitantly agreed

And our adventure begun
At this point it still hadn't "hit," I just felt off and people looked weird

I could sense the vibe they were putting off

Most calm and positive, a few negative (made me want to distance myself from them)

We sat on a ~30 foot log for a bit and talked about random stuff
Eventually 2 of my closer friends and I climbed up part of the mountain to get a better view of things

We got to a good spot

Turned around

And BOOM I felt absolutely amazing

Everything was bright and oversaturated

The air breathed extremely clean and refreshing
The feeling wasn't anything crazy or abnormal

I wasn't hallucinating

I just felt like a million bucks

Everything seemed right in the world

After some time of soaking in the pure joy we were experiencing, we started our trek through the forest
At this point, I started assigning meaning to everything

I treated one friend as our small group's guide

I treated another as an all-knowing being

We moved from one spot to another

Stopping when something piqued our interest

FYI: snow looked insane
Exploring everything took a few hours

There were a few things that stuck to me:

1. Everything "served its purpose"

From a spec of dirt to a 100ft tall tree

Everything just "made sense"

The tree was there for a reason, the dirt too

Why? Idk - it simply served its purpose
2. We were fully present

Everything we did was 100% in the moment

We were our "true selves"

No worries in the world, clowning around, having a great time

It wasn't an abnormal sensation - I do believe this can be attained naturally through mindful practice
3. We felt like we were in a video game

Our phone screen looked like it was a 3d HUD

The dog we brought up looked holographic

Everything had a sort of animated look, super vibrant and high contrast
Throughout the journey we met up with other small groups of friends that were on a similar journey

Everyone had a blast just hanging out in nature

We eventually called it a wrap, moved back towards the cabin, and went on a zipline close by
Once that was over, everyone met back at the cabin

We lit the firepit

Put on some chill music

And talked about our individual experiences (one guy's pants ate him)

All-in-all it was a great time
That is all for the story

As stated previously, do your research and be smart if you decide to do this

I hope you enjoyed this, as its a bit different than my other content

Have a solid Wednesday everyone

- Dan

Thread - The 2 Pillars of the Good Life:
- Pillar 1 -

Iteration - a procedure in which repetition of a sequence of operations yields results successively closer to a desired result.

Iteration is evolution. Constant improvement.

When things go wrong, try something else.

When something works, repeat it.
Lifting weights = iteration

You are repeating the same process week by week, year by year, to build and maintain your health. (And look sexy)

Morning routines = iteration

Find a routine that gets you up, clears your head, and pushes you to create. Repeat for consistent mood.

7 Harsh Truths About Online Business

(It may not be for you)

// THREAD //
Everyone talks about online business like it is the holy grail of making money

I have yet to see someone break down the bad sides of online biz

So, that is what we are going to do today
1) You May Not See Good Money (for a WHILE)

There is one common theme I've noticed between successful online biz owners

Nearly all of them tried 5-10 different business models before committing to one

Then, it took them 6 months to a year to start getting a decent "paycheck"

The Hierarchy of Getting Shit Done

(How to set big goals and actually achieve them)

*THREAD*
1) Top of the pyramid: Vision

In order to become the person you want to become

You need to KNOW who you want to become, right?

You need to know what kind of lifestyle you want to live.

4 hour work weeks living in a beach house?

Huge plot of land + farm + family?
Take 20 minutes

Sit down with a paper and pen

Write out what YOU would like to see as your future lifestyle

What climate do you want to live in?

How much money do you want to make?

How does your fitness/physique look?

Do you want a family? How big?

Thread - 8 habits of people that are going to accomplish anything they want:
1. Managing your energy, not your time

Motivation/discipline stems from having the energy to do something

Eat better, move more, and consume less mindless entertainment

Line up your most important tasks in the morning when your energy is highest
2. Spending time with winners

If you spend time with corporate drones you will become one

If you spend time with the opposite you will become one

There is a bit more to it, but you get the point

How I went from being a broke college student making $1000/month to making multiple 6 figures online

Buckle in, it gets bumpy

My story - a thread:
Let's start way back

When I was 16 I was super into fitness

After school weights

Would sneak into the community 18+ gym

Had a garage bench press where my buddy and I would blast music and max out every day (lol)

This leads into my first online biz venture
2 years later, freshman year of college my other friend and I started a YouTube channel

We shot vids in the gym, did talking head vids on different topics, and did eating challenges

The most notable was a 10k calorie challenge that I have unlisted on my account
