As I have to find nice routes for my Homepoatela “pilgrimage”, I decided to do the ultimate #LindyWalk in Belgrade, which not only connects the city’s most famous Orthodox chruches, but also some awesome parks
Let’s go, shall we?
I satred at St Alexander Nevsky church in Dorćol and followed Dušanova street to the Fortress and Kalemegdan park up to Ružica Church and St Petka chapel and spring...
A walk through the fortress on a sunny morning is perfect as you get the best views all for yourself
Then I went past St Michael’s, the Patriarch’s Palace and Poncess Ljubica’s Palace to Branko’s bridge, past sleepy, cobbled Kosančićev venac
The it was under the bridge and its impressive staircase to Gavrilo Princip street...
Then you go past the new monumental statue of Stefan Nemanja and the pld Railway station towards the historic Ascension chruch
Then I went though some of my favourite Belgrade streets - Njegoševa, Knjeginje Zorke and Svetog Save towards St Sava’s Church
A few more of my favourite pre WWII buildings...
Then it’s past the small St Sava’s Chruch, the huge New Church and the National Library in ethno-modern style towards Katanićeva
Again, a bit of Vračar walking towards Belgrade’s prettiest street: Krunska
Krunska has some of the best mansions in the city, although some are very delapidated
After Krunska I took Kumanovska towards the old Carnegie-funded University Library and the National Archives
Then it’s via the old Tašmajdan park - which used to be a stone quarry and a cemetery - to my beloved St Mark’s parish church and the Russian Orthodox Holy Trinity church, which holds the remains of Pyotr Wrangel, the leader of White Russian forces
Finally, it’s past our grand National Assembly building and the old palatial Telegraph and Postal Ministry buildings in Palmotićeva
The whole walk is about 12km and really takes you through some of the best streets in the city. Ideal for light strolling in Spring and Autumn mornings...

It is with great pleasure that I can announce my candidacy for Assistant Mayor of Belgrade in 2022. Holding this position will allow me to improve lives of my fellow Belgraders. Image
I promise and invest even more in major projects like development and preservation of hipster brunch places, vanity media projects and, hopefully, a 55m replica of the Victor with my face on it to be installed on Avala. There will be 1 podcast per capita by 2030.
I will work to create dissident podcaster zones for those who seek freedom from all around the world. They will be developed in gentrified working class suburbs, and will feature all the based cultural signifiers of the Serbian working class culture bit with none of the downsides
