A year of Keir: much has been made of Starmer's performance, but Britons and Labour voters tend to think he's done as well as could be expected

13% - good job
41% - done as well as could be expected in circumstances
20% - bad job

yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…
Despite having been reasonably popular for most of his first year in charge, Keir Starmer ends his first 12 months with a negative net favourability score (-11). Worse still for him, this means he is now more unpopular than Boris Johnson (-1)

yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…
Keir Starmer's key attributes all took a turn for the worse in the last couple of months, with the Labour leader now only getting a positive score for competence

Strong leader (-14)
Decisive (-14)
Trustworthy (-9)
Likeable (-5)
Competence (+7)

yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…
Britons also increasingly think that Starmer does not look like a PM in waiting - 52% say so, twice the number who can see him walking into Number 10

yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…
On top of this, Starmer finds himself 10pts behind Boris Johnson on our most recent "who would make the best Prime Minister" question (27% vs 37%)

yougov.co.uk/topics/politic…
On the key question of economic competence, there is likewise little progress for Labour under Starmer. Currently 40% of Britons trust the Tories most with the nation's finances, vs 19% for Labour
