Capital goes where it's welcome + stays where it's well treated. Talent + cash alike.

The MIA momentum is more a diagonal shift SF ↘️ MIA and less NYC ⬇️ MIA (already fast to fly in/out and many do for winters + spring break).

2/ These folks + many more are motivated to and already have viral momentum making Miami a thing.

There will surely soon be a MIA type competitive coveted SXSW annual event that will bring tech x music x food x art x culture together...

3/ Those without attachments (family or kids in schools with close friends) or very young kids not yet in school or those with enormous income (fund managers tax haven) will relocate EASILY.

New schools will surely launch and build up to try to be more competitive...

4/ Others will buy place and rent out and try to get 185 days and spend more time.

For SF newbies it will be trading homeless + homogenous political CLIMATE—for heterogeneous one + CLIMATE of hurricanes + heat (and a newfound LOVE for... air conditioning)🧊💧🥵

5/ Also I predict a real island + boat based Fyre Festival type event will emerge on or near FL sandbars or Bahamas. Silicon Sands.

6/ Eventually improbable as it is SF will get a Guiliani like mayor as NYC did to straighten it out and attract tax payers as the city otherwise eats itself.

7/ PS per 2 above it won’t be Art Basel

needs to be something “new” with new + different power brokers and conveners and velvet rope access granters. Art Basel is old guard. New guard will do something new and hyped and creative.
