Theory: Biden is intentionally generating a border crises as a way of leveraging progressives into an immigration deal that includes border security.

Discuss...
More: They did everything the progressives have wished for so that the insanity of their desires could be exposed and the political impact would be obvious leading to a deal where their voices are diminished.

I realize this is a pretty elaborate theory but I think it’s possible.
Setting aside the whole microphone abnormality, this comment aligns with my theory.

“Not at the moment”

This is the most self aware and realist a take as you are ever going to get from an establishment Republican.

The crisis they face is that they will be a forever minority party without effectively merging MAGA into the party.

There’s no way to get MAGA voters and reject Trump.
At the same time Trump has to confront some things to be everything he could be come 2024.

I do think tactically there were narrative and languaging choices that worked in 2016 but hurt in 2018 and 2020.

I say that while keeping in mind he got nearly 75,000,000 votes.
Trump lost the electoral college by around 40,000 votes.

And that’s accepting the assumption that everything was above board. It wasn’t.

But...

Trump could grow from here.

And the Trump that could get elected in 2024 won’t be a facsimile of the 2016 Trump.

Dad not well again.

Not sure exactly what it is.

But prayers appreciated.
Well he tested negative for Covid but my dad has pneumonia.

Given his age and other health issues that could be difficult for him to recover from.

Thanks for the prayers.
Just spoke with the nurse’s station in the ER. They are moving dad to a room now. He is stable. IV antibiotics. So far so good.

Thanks for your prayers.

Well I have big news.

The Levy family is moving to Tennessee!

If you follow me then you know I’m a lifelong Floridian. I will always be proud of my Florida roots.

But our family loves the lifestyle available in eastern Tennessee.
We love the seasons, walking trails and going to the Smokey Mountains.

I’m blessed that I can sit anywhere and run my business so lowering my cost of living while increasing my quality of life was a no brainer.
But if I was going to move it had to be to a reliably red state that didn’t lock people down.

Tennessee checked all the boxes.

So we are on our way to Knoxville.

@RonColeman, primarily the issue I have with Pence is that after December 14 vote of the electoral college, Pence got on stage multiple times and elevated expectations specifically for what could happen on 1/6. Up to the Monday before in GA.
Then after a report saying Pence told Trump he couldn’t do anything at lunch on 1/5, Trump released a statement contradicting the report and again raising expectations and stating he and Pence were on the same page.

Maybe McConnell is just hoping he can scare Trump away from coming after Thune.

Seems what we are actually watching is a battle between Thune and Graham for who becomes the next Leader.

Thune has McConnell.

Graham has Trump and Rick Scott?

Now I’m even more interested.
Thune is up for re-election in 2022.

He is the Republican Whip.

I assume McConnell has been grooming Thune as his successor.

Trump seems to have other plans.

Graham’s actions are a clear attempt to usurp the traditional line of succession.

He has now publicly rebuked McConnell on several occasions including this morning.

Thune on the other hand has consistently backed McConnell.
