My younger brother was the one who took it upon himself to shop for a wife for me
I had been in an eight years relationship from 1999 - 2007. A relationship in which I invested everything and sponsored the lady's tertiary education. I had assumed that if a man deflowered a lady
the lady would be with him forever
I didn't know where I got that idea
It was most likely from reading Wole Soyinka's The Lion and the Jewel too many times
I was a student at the time and I grossly inflated my school fees to my father who lived abroad to be able to meet the needs
of this lady and I
I graduated from Bowen University in 2008 to discover this lady had met another guy in UI and wanted nothing to do with me anymore
My heart broke in such a way that I felt the pain of the knife plunged into it from my back for many days
Loving the wrong person
is a very dangerous thing
Dealing with heartbreak is something else
I couldn't sleep for days and my tears would probably cause a still river to flow again
My mother and siblings tried very hard to help me but the heartbreak had plunged me into depression
That was primarily why I
moved from Ibadan to Lagos
It was an opportunity to leave the dead grave of the past and follow the rising sun into a new reality in a new environment
I had lost every interest in skirts at this time
I just wanted to be alone and live my life in safety
I didn't even try to live
My younger brother @dafidimimo had been dating his babe for some years and needed to get married
He told my mother his plans
My mother was happy but she begged him to appeal to me to snap out of gloom and live again
My mother said "He may never get married if he doesn't get help"
Mothers are the best
She had told me all along that the relationship I had with this lady will not work out because she was a cheat but I didn't listen to my mummy because I didn't know how she came about her postulation
I was in love with a blade
I got cut in a million places
My brother took it upon himself to provide me with the needed help
He would often come home and talk about a lady he met, he started with a medical doctor and then an accountant, it went on for many days
He would insist I talk about these prospective wives with him and sometimes
me to meet with such and say hello
I humored him at the time
I love my brother and I could read his intention from a million mile but I am a do it yourself kinda guy and I just wasn't ready
Then one day in February 2019, he came home and said "I met a lady today, If I was not
engaged I would marry her myself"
That got me
My brother was a "one girl" for a lifetime guy
He practically led me to the Lord in 2007 when I met the Holy Spirit
He doesn't do immorality in any way
He really meant what he said about the lady and that got me very curious
I got
the lady's phone number and sent her a text message
I never expected a response
I did it so that when my brother asked me if I made a move, I would reply to him that I did
I got a reply
In the text, I introduced myself
In her reply, she introduced herself too
We began to exchange
text messages
It was very interesting
In the evening, I would walk to TVC from my house to see my older sister
This lady was sharing a cubicle with my sister
She didn't know I was the one she was exchanging text messages with
She asked to meet me several times but I wasn't ready
to commit, so i'd deflect
The text exchanges went on for several weeks until I told her one day that I have come to know her quite well in the past few weeks
She said, "Because you see me on TV?"
I didn't know she was a TV presenter at the time
I thought she was a reporter like
my sister
I had a TV at home but I had not turned it on for months
I prefer to read and found the TV to be a distraction
I realized that she had a point, I didn't know her as much as I thought I did yet if I didn't even know she was a Newscaster and all
No man can know another
unless they spend quality time together and walk with each other in sincerity
I went to meet her at the TVC make-up room on April 2, 2009
I wore my best suit (She later called it a coat)
We talked and warmed up to each other
I told her I want to marry her
She said she was told by
the Holy Spirit that I would reach out to her the day she received my first text message
I was actually walking in my preordained path
This made everything seemed easy, too easy but that's the life I have been called into as a believer
A table had always been set before me
Glory
I didn't have a proper job at the time
I was doing some freelance writing that offered only stipends
I had plays and books I wanted to publish (hoping to hit gold)
I had my beautiful mind and glorious eyes
She was earning six figures, she had her own car, a nest egg (Savings) as
she called it when she told me about it and she was the toast of her industry
Her name was Bukola Coker
And she agreed to marry me
On her birthday in 2009, I bought her a Nokia Express Music for 18000 Naira
She started using it immediately, even though it was cheaper than the
Samsung phone she had bought for herself a few months before I met her
On my birthday, she gave me 100,000 Naira cash to spend as I wish
Her parents and well-wishers were concerned about my lack of a stable job
I remember hearing her saying to her Uncle "Have you heard him speak?
If you have you will know he is the sound of a great glory waiting for its time of manifestation
She started marriage class six months before I did because I was trying to get a job & please everybody
She said "I can see your future, I will rest in that, plus the Holy Spirit has
never given me a bad gift before
He brought you to me, I will trust in Him!"
We got married on October 2, 2010
Everything she saw came to pass, everything she heard by the spirit
Remember that I didn't say I heard anything or saw anything by the Spirit
That was because I didn't!
It is a great thing to marry a woman who is full of the Holy Ghost
Her steps are divinely ordained and she wouldn't be able to stumble because her path would shine brighter and brighter as she journeyed in obedience
It is a wonderful thing to be married to a man who is full of
the Holy Ghost and had become one with the wind
His path will be clothed in the Ananah and his life covered in the manifestations of the Spirit of life
Bukola is a blessing to many generations and the body of Christ
Happy Birthday to you my love
You're the gift of God unto me

She was the one that whispered the
words in his ears
It was the best thing she could do
at that moment to save herself from
losing out on the love of her life
He had never looked her way for

he would treat a friend

Her father had completed his house
in January that year and they moved
all the way to Ibadan from their base

It started as a simple conversation
I was contemplating the death and resurrection of Jesus
and engaging the Holy Spirit in a conversation
I said "Do you know that Jesus was the one that declared himself as the resurrection and the life? was if possible that if he didn't make
that declaration he wouldn't have resurrected as he did?
Am I supposed to start declaring that I am the resurrection and the life too?
Will that be appropriate seeing that I have not had the occasion to stand before a grave and declare "Lazarus, come forth" like Jesus did?
The
Holy Spirit said "Do you want to stand before a grave and declare "Lazarus, come forth" as Jesus did?
I said yes
He said "Okay"
I went back to my contemplations, I always internalize the words of Jesus
Sometimes I would personalize the words and say them out loud
All his words

The moment he walked into my office, I realized the genesis of his marital problem.
It was neither him nor his wife
It was due to gross misconception
His wife grew up in a very strict Christian home
She was one of those girls that Daddy was determined would walk in the way of the
Lord by hook or crook
The conditioning of her father had triggered a rebellious streak in her
She had promised herself that as soon as she could leave the house she would do so without looking back
She wanted to be free
She wanted to live on her own terms
Her father sent her to
the University
She waited for that knight in shinning armor to come for her
The knight did not show up on time
She had to go back home after she graduated
As usual her father was already making another plan for her life
Everybody said it was love but she didn’t want to be loved

Reflection: Children of the Ressurection

For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive (1 Corinthians 15:21-22).
When Jesus died on the cross, He didn’t take the place of “Christians,
” but the place of sinners. He came as man’s substitute. The whole world has been saved from the punishment of sin, but God’s interest wasn’t just to save man from the punishment of sin, but to save man from the life and nature of sin
The death of Jesus Christ settled the charges
against us, but it didn’t make us one with God or reconcile us to God! It didn’t bring us into friendship or relationship with God. It didn’t give us eternal life, until we took the very next step as revealed in Romans 10:9-10. It says anyone who confesses the Lordship of Jesus,

It was her mother that suggested a change of fortune through marriage
Her mother had a friend, they were members of the same fraternity
He was a very rich man and he was already married to three wives
He built a house for each of his wives and each wife raised their own children
independent of the others
The entire family meet in his mansion only three times a year
On his birthday, on New Year's day and on their annual family reunion with other members of the extended family which he hosts
His business ran into some trouble
He ran to her mother for help
Her mother did everything in her power to help him survive that lean season
After he had successfully navigated that dry season, he returned to her mother to say Thank you
Her mother told him what she wanted
"I want you to marry my daughter and set her up as you did your other

The very first time he cheated on his wife
He met the girl at a market
She was a tailor
His office needed some curtain materials and he was the one who was sent to the market to get the materials because the facility manager was on leave and he was the one standing in for the
facility manager
As soon as he picked the materials he deemed appropriate, the curtain sellers told him they had tailors who could cut the materials and sew the curtains for him
He told them to get one of the tailors
The curtain seller made a phone call
A few minutes later, the
lady arrived
He paid for the material and moved with the materials to the shop of the lady
While the lady sewed the curtains they got talking
Just a chat here and a chat there
They somehow exchanged numbers
By the time the lady was done, they had become friends of a sort
The lady
