Rich vs. Poor: 15 things you can do that will MAKE YOU RICH.

// THREAD //
1: Believe you can.

Your mindset will *LITERALLY* make or break your ability to build wealth.

Whether you believe you can or you can't, you're right.

Don't proceed further unless you believe you have the power to get rich.
2: Show up every damn day.

Rich people don't just phone it in. That's what poor people do.

To get rich:

- be present at work, mentally and physically
- be the person everyone can rely on
- do your job the best you can

This is not hard.
3: Get up early.

Most rich people don't get up at the crack of noon.

Author Thomas Corley found that HALF of all rich people wake up three hours before their workday begins.

Start your daily momentum early.
4: Exercise regularly.

Just 30-minutes of exercise a day makes you a different person.

Healthier. Happier. More energetic.

Walking is a GREAT form of exercise and lets our minds wander.

Walking helps us to make better decisions.
5: Associate with success.

Rich people associate with richer people.

Keep high standards. Successful people bring opportunities and experience that you NEED to get rich.

If you are the smartest person in the room, then find a new room.
6: Quit saying "no".

If you say no to opportunities, you're also saying no to building wealth.

Say yes more, especially to things that are intimidating.

Reserve "no" for things that are CLEARLY not right.
7: Save a 6-month emergency fund.

If you don't have an emergency fund, then you're living at *extreme risk*.

You don't need to do this overnight. Start small, build over time.

Your future self will thank you.
8: Invest like your life depends on it.

How much? At least 20% of gross income (minimum).

Wealth is built through ownership, not just through salaries.

Make it easy:

- Index funds
- 401(k)s and Roth IRAs
- Targeted retirement funds
9: No credit card debt, ever.

Your credit card is a convenience, not a way to spend money that you don't have.

Credit card debt is:

✓ addicting
✓ high interest
✓ tough to eliminate

And, it KILLS your ability to build wealth.
10: Don't keep up with the Joneses; they're broke.

Focus on you and your family. Your needs.

Your neighbor isn't paying your bills, so don't let them turn you into a financial idiot.
11: High-paying careers help.

High-paying career fields include:

- computers
- marketing
- accounting
- business
- finance

Hell, have you seen what plumbers charge these days? Electricians?

You don't have to be a "tech bro" to get rich.
12: Never do the same job year after year.

That's a failure.

Keep moving. Try new things.

This exposure will keep you improving, learning, and earning.
13: Start a business.

Successful businesses make people very, very rich.

Don't quit your 9 to 5 until you've replaced the majority of your income with your business.

Businesses are HARD WORK. Don't let Money Twitter fool you.

But, very rewarding.
14: Track your spending.

It's boring, I know. But, it's the ONLY way to improve your financial life.

Use spreadsheets or web-based budgeting applications to track every dollar that you spend.

It'll keep you honest. And heading in the right direction.
15: Move around.

Switching companies is the perfect opportunity for raises. It's a part of the process.

I moved five times in 14 years. 15% raise every single time.

Fuck company loyalty.

This works.
Everything I learned about building wealth and mastering early retirement is in my eBook, Big Money.

For less than $10, it's the best investment in yourself that you'll ever make.

Period.

12 Things My Wife And I Did To Retire in our 30s

++ THREAD ++
1: We ignored the hate.

Funny how people dish hate when you're living a purposeful life.

You're not drowning in debt, buying a boat, going on pricey vacations.

You're living your life. Building wealth.

Those hateful people are still working today.
2: Tracked cash flow.

We knew where every dollar was going.

Using spreadsheets, we had complete visibility over everything, and it made saving money uber simple.

Track your spending.

What is Money Twitter?

It's a segment of Twitter that talks about:

- crypto is king
- fuck your 9 to 5
- online businesses
- 24/7 hustling lifestyles
- "Real wealth begins at 8 figures"

It's 90% bullshit.

Here's what you need to know. 👇
First, most on Money Twitter are good people.

They are trying their best to better their lives. Improve their situation.

I respect the hell out of that.

And...

Your 9-5 job can make you more money than you can imagine.

Here is how I boosted my salary by almost 250% in 12 years.

//Thread//
☑ I was the first one in the office, every day
☑ I rarely took sick days or vacations
☑ I made myself uber valuable

Showing up is half the battle.

Warning: This can turn into a BAD thing if you *never* take time off.

Moderation is key, but THIS WORKS.
☑ I switched companies five times in 14 years
☑ Each move boosted my salary at least 15%

Nothing murders wealth like a dead-end job.

Don't be afraid to change jobs to get more money or a better position.

The 6 financial rules that will GET YOU RICH.

//THREAD//
1: Build a 6+ months emergency fund

If you don't have an emergency fund, then you're living at *extreme risk*.

You don't need to do this overnight. Start small, build over time.

Your future self will thank you.
2: Invest 20% of income in long-term investments

If you spend the majority of your salary, then guess what?

⇢ You're "fake rich". The pseudo-affluent.

Alone, salaries don't build wealth. Neither does saving.

Investments build wealth.

I ended my career earning almost $140,000 as a 35-year old.

Here are 9 things I did to get there.

//THREAD//
1: I ditched my passion and followed my strength.

Photography is my passion. But, I didn't make my passion my job.

I chose a career with historically high pay and good job prospects.

I spent 14-years as a software developer.
2: I ditched low-value people.

Sounds harsh, but it works.

I ignored coworkers that were dead weight. I didn't want to be associated with them.

Most of Twitter's money advice is bad. Period.

Stop digging yourself into a hole.

//THREAD//
Not everyone will have the same access and advantages.

⇢ That's a fact of life.

But, the rule of building wealth applies EQUALLY to everyone, regardless of background.

Income + Investments - Lifestyle = WEALTH.

How does this work? 👇
You can't live a rockstar life on a fast-food income.

Stop complaining. Stop blaming others. That doesn't build wealth.

What does?

☑ Work your ass off
☑ Invest in yourself (courses, certifications, etc)
☑ Be the BEST PERSON your employer has

Then: 👇
