Chauvin's lawyer just played a short excerpt of George Floyd - while being held on the ground - screaming out "Ahhh! I ate too many drugs!"

This trial shouldn't be happening
You don't understand the defense at all

Drug use isn't the justification

It undermines *causation*

Chauvin didn't cause Floyd's death, an overdose did

We aren't even to defense witnesses yet

This is going so, so badly for the prosecution

Watching the Chauvin trial, and they are showing the police bodycam footage

I'd never watched it before

After watching it, I don't know how you could rule out the idea that Floyd just simply died of an overdose
From the moment police approached Floyd in his car, he was freaking out, looking like he was having a panic attack

He was resisting arrest (even if he wasn't trying to) - constantly jerking around, refusing to get in the squad car, etc.
While he's in the squad car - without anyone constraining his chest or neck - you can hear him saying "I can't breathe"

And he just looked like he was in a world of pain from the moment he was handcuffed

Our soldiers are being fed inedible, dangerous food on a completely frivolous to protect against nonsensical and absurd "threats"

It would be nice to have leaders who actually cared about our troops' welfare

But they are too busy vetting them for dangerous conservative thoughts
This is a microcosm of Democrat governance generally

Virtue-signalling at the expense of the health and well-being of loyal American soldiers
Banal awfulness

Listening to the impeachment trial

Amazing how deceptive the editing is from the very beginning

Raskin's video includes President Trump saying "we are going to walk down to the Capitol" while omitting his request for his supporters to "peacefully make their voices heard"
Watching the video, I see a ton of crimes being committed by people who are not President Trump

Maybe those people should be prosecuted and the Senate should go back to doing the people's business
The Democrats' position is incoherent

Raskin says Trump "incited an insurrection" and to hold him accountable that we must stretch the constitution to allow impeachment of private citizens

If he incited a riot, that's a crime, and the judicial system can handle it

The fact that McCarthy is more focused on removing @mtgreenee than Liz Cheney is a serious problem…
Greene said a bunch of dumb stuff two years ago

Cheney voted to impeach the sitting Republican President LAST MONTH
The House GOP needs to get this through their heads:

Do not prioritize the interests of Democrats and the MSM

Prioritize the interests OF YOUR VOTERS

This sentiment is un-American

Free speech is more than the First Amendment
"The guarantee of free speech is for democracy; it is worth little, in the end, apart from it."

Completely backwards, @emilybazelon

Our rights do not exist to protect our system of government; our system of government exists to protect our rights
I would sooner live in a monarchy with freedom of speech, religion, press, et al

Than live in a democracy without those freedoms

Democracy is a means, liberty and prosperity are the ends

And the most important liberty of all is the freedom to speak your mind
