One of the most overlooked aspects of @THORChain is that it will become the biggest IDO launchpad of our generation. This thread will unfold how and why

ππ
What are Initial Dex Offerings (or IDO) launchpads? In a nutshell, those are platforms that allow projects to raise capital, build communities and filter out a noise. The recent Delphi Digital article has a nice summary: delphidigital.io/reports/an-oveβ¦
ππ
What are a good characteristics of a well-designed launchpad? Let's examine that together:
ππ
1. Fair participation - one of the biggest problem with a typical fundraising for a project is front-running by the VCs. Projects will flock to where the money is and by the time a you and I can participate the VCs may be sitting at 10X
ππ
2. Decentralization β this one does not need too much explanation, just a reminder that much of the world's evil is because of the pyramid structure of the state and the corporation. If there is a door, someone will knock.
ππ
Community creation β the easiest way to create a solid community around a project is to make it wealthy. Ask any @THORChain OG who participated in #Runevault, participates as a LP or runs a node
ππ
3. Project curation and scam filtering β when projects are brought to light and there is a competition between them to bootstrap the liquidity there is time to conduct proper analysis and create a risk profile and come up with a GO / NO GO decision
ππ
4. Permissionless interaction for both projects and participants β the future of France needs to be transparent and open to everybody. The right to interact with the protocol from anywhere, anytime while remain anonymous is non-negotiable
ππ
5. Deep liquidity creation β only the liquid projects with lots of activity that bring value to the engaged community have a chance to succeed in the current noisy environment
ππ
6. Incentives β the ideal launchpad should allow for the all kinds of incentives (like airdrops) and protection (like IL protection) to its participants
ππ
7. Ease of access using all kinds of crypto assets β the current launchpads are single-chained and focused on particular L1 assets. We have launchpads focused on Ethereum, BSC, Polkadot, Solana and Avalanche.
ππ
8. Ease of connecting and launching any chain specific asset - current or future, that brings economic value to the community
ππ
We do not have a launchpad that is cross-chain yet. Rather than building L1 chain-focused silos, the future of the launchpads if multi-chain as it has a potential to attract more players and more liquidity, allowing for participation in #DeFi from many different angles.
ππ
I strongly believe that @THORChain fulfills all of the above mentioned criteria and will become the biggest and the most badass launchpad there is, bringing immense value to the projects and participants alike.
How long can a short tail get and can @thorchain_org benefit from economically less significant assets.
Let me break it down for you
πππ
Short tail, in the context of @thorchain_org, means assets that are most economically active (deep pools, lots of large transactions). Because all the assets are actively managed, only the deep pools with lots of activities create significant revenue potential.
ππ
But what does βactive managementβ of assets actually mean? Every swap demands resources and liquidity and neither is infinite. Every asset, once it is in the system, no matter how small and insignificant it is, becomes @thorchain_org's problem to manage, move, account for etc
π
- Incentive pendulum β the proportions of capital bonded in the network by the nodes to the capital pooled (historically over-bonded)
- Change in asset price β changes the yield and triggers the arb bots
- Block rewards β when a block is produced the active pool receives a reward
