1/ 🚨 BREAKING: Democracy Prep Public School concedes emergency injunctive relief to @GabsClark5's son William Clark for Critical Race Theory "graded identity confession and labeling exercises."

This is a big early win, but it is only the beginning. More granular details below.

2/ The Clark family made 5 original demands:

1. Expunge William's failing "Sociology of Change" grade.

2. Permit William to enroll in an alternative course.

3. Have the Principal personally deliver the updated report card to William.

4. Enjoin and restrain Defendants and their affiliates and agents from conducting “graded identity confession and labeling exercises.”

5. Declare that such exercises are unlawful.

4/ Democracy Prep Public School has conceded the first 3 requests. In doing so, they claim that this relief means that William no longer has a claim to "irreparable harm" in terms of affecting graduation and college applications.

5/ The School demands that "Court take the currently-scheduled preliminary injunction hearing set for April 14, 2021 off calendar and deny Plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary injunctive relief."

6/ In effect, the School has conceded the time-sensitive "emergency relief" aspect of the case, and kicked the can down the road regarding the other 2 aspects of the case:

– Prevent “graded identity confession and labeling exercises”
– Declare that such exercises are unlawful

7/ This is a big win for @GabsClark5 and her son William! But this case is far from over. Currently the school is able to continue with the "graded identity confession and labeling exercises" with all other students.
