#SakuAtsu & #SunaOsa

I forgot to elaborate SO Sakusa sucks at cooking but he has an exquisite palate, developed through years of fine dining & high-end buffets. So whenever his family goes to a fancy restaurant, he takes notes of every fatty tuna meal & sends it to Osamu. +
Sometimes he even interviews the chefs, asking way too many questions.

“So you can cook it for him. Hyogo’s closer to Osaka,” he always reasons out.

“So you’re askin’ me to cook /and/ bring that dumbass food?” Samu will always do it, anyway. It’s for Atsumu, after all. +
After five new fatty tuna recipes in his inbox, Samu has stopped pretending to be annoyed over it. He kinda likes it, too. The over-the-top recipes he wouldn’t have had access to otherwise help widen his cooking skills, anyway.
In turn, he asks Sakusa one thing. “Can ya accompany Rin whenever you can? Bring him food too. I’ll teach you my recipes.”

“I’m not a good cook—“

“I’ll teach ya fatty tuna onigiris. Make him those and he’ll love ya for it.”

“When did you say you were going to teach me again?”+
Eventually Sakusa starts sending more recipes, and not just fatty tuna ones. Osamu notices that the new recipes are ones /he/ is interested in, ones he wants to explore and try. Sakusa has a whole notebook labeled “for Osamu’s future menu” that he brings in buffets and dinners. +
Suna has become significantly less lonelier in Tokyo since Samu asked Sakusa for a favor, too. He eats more now, but he also has to endure Sakusa’s failed attempts at Samu’s recipes for him (he ends up just buying icepops for Suna to make up for it). +
So maybe Samu makes extra effort to practice the fatty tuna recipes Sakusa gave him to perfection before sending them over to Osaka. And maybe he sends way more food to Tokyo so 1) he can get feedback from Sakusa who had the real thing & 2) feed his starving athlete boyfriend.
It’s a weird set-up, but it works. And if Sakusa develops a fondness over gossip after the twins push them to spend more time together, with their slouchy bendy boyfriends now armed with a shitton of blackmail material, then that’s the twins’ fault entirely. //

What if Sakusa’s parents want Osamu for him instead? They’re taking up business in college, and Samu caught their attention by starting a small resto as an undergrad.

So they set up their dates. But Sakusa’s more interested in the twin… An athlete… His parents would freak.
It’s hard not to be attracted to Atsumu. He really tried. Samu is safer, his parents’ glaring choice for him. They don’t like each other, not really and not like that, but there is stability in their formulaic dates.

Then there is Atsumu. God, how does one even describe Atsumu?+
He’s loud. He runs his mouth. He’s brash, impulsive. Of course he is, because how else would anyone choose /volleyball/ as a career path?

Most of all, he reminds Sakusa of something unreachable, something illogical, irrational. He reminds him of passion. Of the abstract. +

#SakuAtsu Atsumu always gets to training first, never failing to play Jump Then Fall the moment Sakusa walks in. It’s mostly for laughs (but really it’s because he thinks Sakusa will never like him back).

Then one day he hears Sakusa humming the song.+
open.spotify.com/track/2m3ObD94…
He doesn’t drop the circus act though. He firmly believes Sakusa will never return his feelings, so his confessions are hidden in exaggerated dance moves as Taylor blares over his phone speakers. +
He tugs at Sakusa’s curls in “I like the way your hair falls in your face”. He switches freckles for moles. Clumsily imitates Sakusa’s spiking form everytime the phrase “jump then fall” plays.

The charades continue until one day Sakusa just... jumps on Atsumu. Literally.

#SakuAtsu but it’s literature uni student Omi and his rookie MSBY setter boyfriend Atsumu who researches all of Omi’s book reports and readings.

Except Sakusa doesn’t know. So when he visits Atsumu’s apartment, he freezes when he sees Atsumu’s browser full of literature tabs.+
Tabs upon tabs of searches, all grouped with care. A crash course on Shakespeare, an overview of the 100 poems from the Hyakunin Isshu, Sparknotes of Sakusa’s book reports, how-to sites on haikus and sonnets. There are sticky notes on the screen with notes of his favorite books.+
Sakusa looks back on the past few months. Nights after nights of 1-hour video calls as Omi rambles about his paper. Atsumu comments whenever he can, and Sakusa beams whenever Atsumu asks an engaging and thoughtful question that begins a 40-min Ted talk on his favorite book. +

#SakuAtsu Single dad Samu holds a party for his child’s 7th birthday. MSBY is invited and Yuki clings onto Sakusa because everyone knows she has a huge crush on him.

Sakusa is carrying Yuki when the host asks for Yuki’s wish. To everyone’s surprise, Yuki kisses him on the lips.+
Sakusa is frozen. Atsumu’s jaw has dropped. MSBY is close to cracking up. Samu doesn’t know if he should high five his child or hide her forever from Atsumu.

The wide smile in Yuki’s lips begins to quiver. “Did I do something wrong, Sakusa-san?” +
It’s Atsumu who speaks. “Yuki, sweetie, it’s about time we talk about consent—”

Samu swats Atsumu away and takes Yuki from Sakusa as tears start falling down her cheeks. “I’m sorry, Sakusa-san,” she whispers.

Sakusa laughs and wipes Yuki’s tears. “No, don’t be sorry, Yuki.” +

A stupid idea but high school #SakuAtsu and Atsumu has a huge crush on Sakusa, so the first time he sets a ball served by Sakusa he freaks out because he counts it as them holding hands.

“I held hands with ‘im, Samu!”
“No ya didn’t, ya dumbass.” +
After the game, despite losing by a wide margin, he’s still giddy. He even asks Suna to switch with him so he’s in front of Sakusa. (He also tried switching jerseys. Suna left before he could even stop talking.)

“He won’t shake your hand. I know it.”
“Don’t be a buzzkill!” +
Sakusa does, surprisingly. He skips some of the members but pauses as Atsumu lingers in front of him on the other side of the net, one hand outstretched.

A beat. Then another hand reaching for a quick handshake.

Atsumu’s eyes are sparkling as he stares. “No way.” +

#SakuAtsu After a match a 5-year old fan attempts to adorn Sakusa’s hair with flowers. Except he’s allergic. He sneezes and backs away, looking apologetic for once. He knows the kid meant well by the quiver of her lips and the tears in her cheeks, sorrys spilling from her mouth.+
One week later the kid watches another match. Atsumu watches wide eyed as Sakusa falls on one knee. The little girl takes out a plastic flower crown and gently places it on curly, raven hair.

“Now you can wear it anytime, Sakusa-senshu! It will never die or make you sick!” +
The girl reaches out to stroke Sakusa’s hair. He lets her. “You can clean it, too!” Sakusa smiles brightly at that, his lips curling with the twisting in Atsumu’s stomach.

Atsumu lost track of the conversation, eyes locked on the faux flowers and the definitely-not-fake smile +
