WSJ: Is Life at NBC News Imitating The Onion?

An influential U.S. news organization appears close to confirming that America still isn’t full of racists. Brandy Zadrozny of NBC reports the hopeful news:
The turnout was so light at last weekend’s “White Lives Matter” rallies that in many cases the protesters were outnumbered by counterprotesters. Ms. Zadrozny of NBC reports:
Folks, this is the menace that the Democrats and their subservient media are trying to warn us about so breathlessly. Even FBI has been conscripted into making noises about white supremacists being the greatest threat to America.
Meanwhile, BLM and Antifa are getting ready for another 'summer of love' and neither Democrats nor the media seem to show any concern. Soon they will tell us how arson, looting, and even killings are just a 'cry for help' against the oppressive white supremacists.

1. Curtis Sliwa Is For Real

This guy is for real. I have known about him for decades. Unlike most people in public life, he speaks his mind without fear or favor, and he has cojones of steel. He did not back down even after being shot by Mafia. I admire this man.
2. On June 19, 1992, Sliwa was kidnapped and shot by two gunmen. The kidnapping was foiled when Sliwa leapt from a front window of the moving cab and escaped. Sliwa underwent surgery for internal injuries and leg wounds.
3. Federal prosecutors eventually charged John A. Gotti, the son of Gambino crime family leader John Gotti, with the attempted murder and a raft of other charges. Prosecutors claimed that Gotti was angered by remarks Sliwa had made on his radio program about Gotti's father.

1. Presidential Virtue Signaling Has Consequences

A record 19,000 unaccompanied minors were picked up by U.S. Border Patrol during March, part of a surge that left dozens of children in need of rescue after being abandoned by smugglers mid-trip.
2. Smugglers are pouncing on the desperation of people in Central America and South America with fake promises of safe trips and easy immigration processes, reports Axios Latino author Marina E. Franco.
3. Recent examples include a 10-year-old boy found wandering alone in Texas and a pair of girls, ages 3 and 5, dropped over a 14-foot border wall in New Mexico.

The year is 2121. GOP is livid we still don't have a national voter ID requirement. Democratic intellectuals respond:
"But 25% of African Americans vs 8% of white people don’t have photo ID. Therefore demanding photo ID has the effect of suppressing African American votes."
Funny how Biden's multi-trillion dollar 'infrastructure' investment could not find even a penny to help Blacks get voter IDs. That is the infrastructure Democrats love to keep broken because it suits their purposes. Tell me again why so many African American don't have an ID.
Am I the only one who thinks Democrats sound like every impoverished and famished man, woman, and child in Sub-Saharan Africa will be driving Mercedes before all African Americans can somehow muster up the means and the wits to obtain a photo ID?

On Georgia Election Law Changes

Despite all the wailing and breast-beating in the media and the Democratic circles, I have yet to come across even a modicum of explanation as to what exact changes in the law are undemocratic or in any way even remotely harmful. Our media stinks!
Look, I will be the first to condemn any election law changes that deliberately make it harder for any lawful voter to exercise their choice to vote for anyone they want to. On that front, I have zero tolerance for either political party's shenanigans.
What does it say about the pathetic state of our media and the Democratic Party's insane rhetoric that they are relentlessly condemning changes to the Georgia law by making wild assertions of potential harm for which they establish absolutely zero causal linkage?

Joe Biden and the Democratic Party have gone insane.

GA voting law does not prohibit anything that is not also prohibited in Minnesota or New York. Every state in the nation has prohibitions on electioneering near polling places, which SCOTUS has affirmed as legitimate.
Let us look at the actual GA voting law changes. The changes to the existing law are shown in bold below.

The prohibition applies inside polling places, within 150 feet of a polling place, or “within 25 feet of any voter standing in line to vote at any polling place.”
This entire controversy is not about people dropping dead of hunger and thirst on long voting lines. It’s about electioneering around the polling place by people looking to advertise that they represent a cause, and who try to influence voters by giving them free stuff.
