Yes, this. A serving officer in uniform is treated like trash by the cops 4 months ago!!! They had this body cam footage from the start. Only social media virality made them fire him. And he even explicitly threatened Lt. Nazario to drop it. Yuck.

Btw when we bought our new car in August, it took over a full month for us to get license plates cos covid-hit DMV plus high demand for cars. Drove a full month with the dealer printout. Saw thousands of new cars like that.

There's no way this stop was actually about license plates. No way. Any cop will also check the back window where the dealer printout is put many times. Nope, this was a dude pulled over for driving a brand new expensive SUV while black. Thankfully he drove to a well lit spot.

Lt. Nazario most likely escaped death by driving an extra 100 seconds to get to a brightly lit BP station with witnesses. And having his uniform on. The racist officer starts the interaction by threatening execution!

His crying "this is so fucked up" made me cry. The guy did absolutely nothing wrong. Even your racist deity Reagan would agree. He has zero idea why he's been pulled over AND threatened with execution at gunpoint and pepper sprayed. For.... Nothing. He did NOTHING wrong.

4 times in the past decade, wife and I have been pulled over by cops for a obvious reason - speeding. When that happens, you're like, okay, my bad, it's cool.
Only once did we get pulled over despite doing nothing wrong. We suspected what the reason was. Were still terrified.

It was in the Fall, returning from a camping trip, and as soon as we entered Manhattan through the Holland Tunnel, we were there only ones among 10 cars waved over to the side. We presumed it was a random quarantine check. It was. But those first few minutes were scary.

Both cops who approached us were POC so that was a small relief. The whole interaction was very polite and in fact reassuring, that at least some checking is being done for the quarantine orders. They gave us a bunch of free masks and sent us on our way. But still unnerving.

So I see an actual serving army officer who did nothing wrong, was polite throughout, wasn't even crossing state lines or anything treated this way. I'm surprised he's just suing for 1 million. I'm surprised he doesn't feel like going Joker on the world. 😳

The only two demographics I still see being in denial about #BlackLivesMatter are white conservatives/libertarian and Reagan-worshipping US desis (aka #sanghimaga scum) or IDW who have the same bigoted eugenicsy mindset. They seriously think it's the black people at fault.
