How To Use Focus To Achieve The Goals You Fear

(The forgotten art of getting sh*t done)

// THREAD //
Your ability to focus often marks the difference between your success and failure.

It's a skill that's lacking in a lot of us these days.

Thank you smartphone addiction.

This thread has tips to:

- Boost your mindset
- Increase earning ability
- Improve odds of success
We were never taught how to concentrate in school, and focussing on tasks we don't enjoy is really difficult.

Sadly the tasks we don't enjoy reap the greatest benefits though.

The good news is: your concentration is like a muscle.

You can practice and train it to be better.
1. You practice distraction instead of concentration.

It's likely you put in hours of practice every day.

Practicing the wrong thing though.

We allow our smartphone-addicted minds to drift from one thought to another non-stop.

Technology is putting in distraction reps for us.
You should treat your focus like a ball of light.

The key is to be aware of when this light is wandering to another spot, and refocus it with the strength of your willpower.

Not easy at first, but you'll get better.

Give it time.

It's all about awareness.
2. Avoid multitasking

When you multitask, you train your brain to not focus on one thing at a given time.

You give free rein to your ball of light that's always looking to wander.

This is another form of practicing distraction.

Remember: multitasking is a myth.
If you're having a conversation, have a conversation.

Focus on the person you're talking to. Be present.

If you're working on something, do just that.

Finish one thing before moving on to another.

You will:

- Be more efficient
- Train yourself to improve your focus
3. Declutter your environment

When there's too much physical clutter in your environment, they all compete for your attention.

So it becomes harder for you to concentrate.

Performance levels decrease, anxiety and stress levels increase.
Your working desk shouldn't be stockpiled with irrelevant stuff.

A clean desk = calm mind.

Even when working on your computer, learn to close all tabs you're not immediately working on.

Don't freak out. You'll be fine. 😆
4. Learn to calm your mind

Sometimes you have too many things running through your mind.

Know that it's making it increasingly hard for you to concentrate.

You have to learn to calm your mind.
Meditate.

Study breathing exercises.

Journal your thoughts.

There are techniques you can check out on the internet that help you get the most out of your breathing.

Do yourself a favor and check out my man @takezopure 's threads on meditation.
5. Do the things you've been avoiding

When you put off a task, it weighs down on your mind.

The reason you might be struggling to concentrate is that you've been putting off that difficult task.

The thing you're avoiding is occupying your headspace.

Just get it done ASAP.
Do those stressful tasks you dislike FIRST, so you can get them off your mind.

Wash those dishes, finish that report.

Your focus will be highly increased when you get back to everything else you want to do.
6. Schedule a time

Getting these less attractive tasks done first isn't always possible though.

What you can do is create a chunk of time to go do them and bring those things back to the forefront of your mind.

Don't say you'll do them later.

Say "I'll do this task by 5:07"
Focus is a crucial ability, guys.

When you focus your mind, you achieve feats you assumed impossible.

You need your mind's full power though.

Full focus = full power.

Full power = bigger results.

Stop accepting mediocre focus from yourself.

Step into your greatness today.
Guys, you know what else helps you focus?

Doing something you LOVE.

We all know this but we don't want to confront our demons and assume we'll be fine either way.

Think you can get away with negativity and self-defeating mechanisms in your business?

Feeling unfulfilled?

5 signs your life needs to change.

// THREAD //
1. You Make Just About Enough At Your Job

You feel chained in your easy, low-stress comfort zone and ignore what your heart is telling you.

That inner friction is eating at your soul.

You choose to ignore it though.

Because, well, next month you'll get that paycheck!

Right?
2. You Pick Up One Bad Habit After Another

You know you should drop them.

Somehow, you never manage to.

Stack the Netflix onto the Disney+.

Stack the mindless shopping for shit you don't need onto your gaming addiction.

Anything to escape feeling things we don't like.

How To Conquer Yourself & Retire Your Parents

6 lessons you should apply on your path to greatness.

(number 4 is all you need to get started)

// THREAD //
What is your biggest desire in life?

It's not making a gazillion dollars.

It's what that money allows you to do.

It's about owning all 24 hours of the day.

It's about what it would allow you to do.

My biggest desire is retiring my parents.

Here's how I'm doing it.
1. The Power Of 'Yet'

Decide on your goal.

In my case: retiring my parents.

Understand that you're going to have to get out of your comfort zone.

You don't know how to code YET.

You don't know how to do email marketing YET.

You don't have millions YET.

You will.

How To Stop Feeling Like A Failure After 30

Confessions of a former loser who's turned his life around

(& who believes you will too)

// THREAD //
You look around you and feel tiny.

You feel like your whole life is a chain of disappointments.

You feel your parents are ashamed of you, or at the very least you feel you're letting them down.

You've had some minor achievements, but you still feel 'inferior'.

I feel you.
Most people around you are off being successful, happy, and accomplished. Or so you believe.

They aren't.

Sure, they might have or earn more.

But you aren't what you have or do not have.

You are a collection of your experiences, your thoughts, and your actions.

Confront Your Victim Mentality And Unlock Your Greatness

Tips for those that have potential but have to unearth it first

// THREAD // Image
From age 18 to 36 I lived as if things were

happening 'to' me. Not for me.

I felt powerless. Negative. Pessimist.

If you're reading this, you'll know what I mean.

It is a coping mechanism you learned.

Know that it can be unlearned.

Here's how to recognize & conquer it:
1. You Dramatize Everything

Look, I've been there. No judgment here.

You allow yourself to believe the tiniest inconvenience will

be the end of the world. You always assume the worst.

Guess what? The universe listens to those thoughts and

will give you exactly that.
