You aren't going to change someone else's mind #OnHere.
Many people try, I've been guilty of it myself, but we need to stop.
Time and energy are limited resources. We can't keep wasting them arguing for no reason.
You can introduce someone to new ideas, that's actually the thing I love most about Twitter, but that's about as far as you'll get.
Plant some seeds, bring attention to some resources, but the rest is bickering and theater.
This format isn't built for genuine discourse.
This isn't limited to "the left" or "the right". We're more nuanced than these labels suggest.
Our silos make us think the other side is getting fed BS. We're the only ones learning the truth.
There's less blatant lies in "liberal" publications, but a lot of omission.
So much damage and pain has come out of blind allegiances. All over the political spectrum, pacifiers are assuring us that things are going well. Trust the plan.
We've all fallen for it at one time or another. Propaganda is everywhere because it works and is easy to reproduce.
We all need to be more careful about where we're placing our trust. Don't blindly accept the spin. Remember that actions speak louder than words.
Get out of your social media bubble once in a while. Progress isn't about dunking or pointing out hypocrisy.
It takes real work.
Influential people are comfortable making decisions that hurt us.
That won't change unless something shifts beneath them. When that happens, they adjust to get comfortable again.
Progress doesn't happen without friction. If you really want change, make people uncomfortable.

Trump, Lorber, LeBow, and Leon Black are in Moscow pursuing a real estate venture that didn't go anywhere.
Tax returns from 1995 show that this was a financial low point for Trump. It's also three years before Putin comes to power.
Leon Black had a very cosy financial relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, which the reporting below provides more details on. He's also pals with Deripaska.
1996 is also two years after Trump raped a 13-year-old at Epstein's NYC residence.
As outlined in @sarahkendzior's "Hiding in Plain Sight", Mogilevich was years into his US operations by then.

Anyone expressing negativity gets purged because he thinks their doubt sabotages his will.
Think about how dangerous that viewpoint is for someone becoming increasingly divorced from reality. 3/

I wasn't engaged in these things at the time, but I imagine that Timothy McVeigh's execution led many to claim that domestic terrorism was no longer a concern in the US.
It happened in 2001, three months before the Sept 11 attacks. 1/
After 9/11, the War on Terror led to the Patriot Act and increased "awareness" of terrorism and radicalization.
However, all of this was xenophobic and focused on the extremists from abroad.
Meanwhile the danger posed by extremists from within grew unabated. 2/
A 2006 Threat Assessment by the FBI warned of “self-initiated efforts by individuals, particularly among those already within law enforcement ranks, to volunteer their professional resources to white supremacist causes with which they sympathize.” 3/ theintercept.com/2020/09/29/pol…
