Officials need to stop asking people to be calm and suspects to be calm and start asking the police to be calm instead. Yelling and drawing guns is not serving a community, that's oppression and terrorism. The word "deescalation" doesn't even exist in their vocabulary.
People resist arrest all the time in the UK that doesn't mean the police can kill them. Some of them are violent, drunk or on drugs too. Still doesn't mean the police can kill them. There are so many different ways you can handle a situation without taking someone's life.
UK has its own issues with race and violence, but the fact most police are unarmed it forces them to take a different approach. Can't be shooting first and asking questions later, this is insanity.
I've seen many heartbreaking stories also about people just having a mental health crisis also being shot and killed. Is that how we treat the vulnerable? Or even dogs being shot? This is not healthy or civilized to approach every situation with a firearm. That's not a solution.

WATCH: The Video That Changed Everything.

11 years to the day, @wikileaks published the "Collateral Murder" showing Iraqi civilians, among them children and two Reuters journalists gunned down by a US Apache helicopter in Baghdad, 2007. The soldiers can be heard laughing and joking as they also shoot the rescue vehicle.
Dean Yates was Baghdad bureau chief for Reuters at the time. When probing the US military about the death of his colleagues, was only shown the first few minutes of the video. He never knew the truth about this incident until Wikileaks published the video.

You know Press TV, CGTN, Sputnik and Telesur are doing something right when OFCOM (Britain’s regulator) takes them off the air and/or Silicon Valley giants repeatedly ban their pages & accounts.

Western govts can’t stand foreign outlets informing their populace, esp in English.
“Freedom of the press” means you can choose between MSNBC, FOX and CNN. Anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, anti-war reporting will not be tolerated. You’ll get banned or thrown in jail and accused of espionage.
This idea that Big Tech and the govt are trying to protect people from “state media” and “disinformation” is bollocks. You’ll never see a label under Reuters or BBC for taking money from HM’s Govt. You’ll never see CNN or the NYT banned on FB for lying about chemical weapons.

How can you answer a question on international law, or any law, with “legalities aside”? Biden admin showing you they’re identical to Trump’s. Israel has been illegally occupying the Syrian Golan Heights since 1967. This is in violation of intl law & UNSC resolutions 242 and 497.
The US has a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. It didn't use its veto power for those resolutions– as a matter of fact both resolutions were passed unanimously by all 15 members on the council at the time. The US is a party to those agreements and must abide by them.
israel stakes its claim as a legitimate state on the fact that it is a member state of the United Nations– while flagrantly violating any UN resolutions that concern its behaviour. What a great deal.

After Mossadegh nationalized Iran's oil, he was ousted in a coup by the CIA and MI6. Abadan was the world's largest oil refinery, built by the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, which the UK govt owned.

A year later they changed its name to what you all know as British Petroleum (BP).
That 1953 coup in Iran was followed immediately by a coup the next year in Guatemala. In 1954 the CIA ousted Guatamalan President Jacobo Árbenz because his agrarian reforms hurt the profits of United Fruit Company, known today as Chiquita.
tldr: people are not allowed to do things because greedy, white capitalists want to subjugate them and steal their shit

I'm not sure where U.S. & E.U. diplomats get off thinking they can participate in protests like Bob Ford did in Syria, or more recently what we saw in Russia.

Can you imagine Russian, Syrian or Lebanese diplomats participating in rallies in the US? We'd never hear the end of it.
This is well beyond the official purview of a diplomatic mission and considered in very poor taste at best. What it really comes down to is meddling in the internal affairs of a host country while serving as a representative of another govt. It's frankly outrageous.
US politicians have been screaming about how their beloved Capitol was attacked in an insurrection meanwhile the US Embassy in Moscow is openly posting protest routes for people taking to the streets. And then they whine about foreign interference from Russia. Stunning hypocrisy.

Indeed. A lot of this weird stuff I see in the US is so far removed from the original Christian faith and how it's practiced in the Levant, where it originated.
i.e. someone on cable yesterday rambling on about how Mike Pence is a "religious man"... okay. Lol.
I meant e.g.*

Another funny one is Rubio. He's so concerned about protecting Syrian & Iraqi Christians he wants to keep us under occupation...? Nah, we're doing fine actually if you just leave us alone lol. The man seems to be very confused
