Mr Tugendhat, chair of @CommonsForeign, said: "We’re seeing a pattern of behaviour by Russia – or rather by President Putin – which is frankly if not an act of war then certainly warlike. And it’s extremely damaging not just to European people but also to the Russian people" 2/

On the 2014 Czech attack specifically, Mr Tugendhat said: "This is a direct attack on a @NATO country. This is the murder of two Czech citizens in a weapons establishment. So if that isn’t a war-like act, frankly I have difficulty in knowing what one is." 4/
He continued: "I think we need to be dealing with Russia in the way that it deals with the rest of the world – which is harshly. What I mean by that is we need to be expelling diplomats, we need to reduce our relationship." 5/
