I have never done a thread on Twitter despite this is my 10th year using this platform.

So, here a thread on my two cents about European Super League #ESL
THE FIASCO OF EUROPEAN SUPER LEAGUE
The idea of creating the European Super League is not new. It was already talked about 15 years ago. About 7 years ago, US and Arab tycoons joining in to buy most top clubs in Europe that lead to the fruition of #ESL we heard today.
This should not be a surprise to anyone in the football world and certainly not from UEFA President. With all due respect Sir, you knew the 'snakes' exist but you are too naive to take action. (I don't necessarily think ESL is a bad thing).
For those who oppose #ESL, I would like to ask all of you honestly, what actually are you opposing? Is it the format? Is it the money involved? or is it the drastic change?
Format? Well, while it is appalling to grasp the idea that there are 15 clubs that will be permanently in the league and only 5 spots for qualifiers, these 15 clubs are there for a good reason. These clubs are the biggest clubs in the world, literally!
From tradition, history and finances, these clubs have it all and they get where there are today because of the struggle since their inception 100 or so years ago.
When you consider all these factors, now the league sounds interesting and for other clubs, they could always try to qualify for it. Maybe in the future, they will increase the size of the league to include more clubs? The format is fluid and is always amendable.
Money? If you are thinking this is a principle(UEFA&FIFA) vs money, I would like you to get out of your cave. This is a MONEY vs MONEY and the ONLY reason why UEFA and FIFA reacting immediately and aggressively because their monopoly on the profits is now in jeopardy.
This is what Patrick Bamford has said when he was asked about his reaction, "It's amazing the amount of uproar when somebody's pocket is being hurt. It's a shame that this doesn't happen with issues like racism."
UEFA failed with FFP and have actively tried to create a super league in the past. Why not even one person criticized it? Because if any player or staff talking about it UEFA will try to shut them down by using fine and ban. Principle much?
FIFA have tried to expand the Club World Cup for years and sold a World Cup to Qatar. Whenever FIFA talked about integrity and principle, they should look themselves in the mirror first before start preaching to other people.
The bribery issue, human rights issue and so many frauds committed and yet no action is taken against it. FIFA is tasting their own medicine and they don't like it!.
Drastic change? Well, as I said, this has been plan a long time ago, I'm sure Florentino Perez and his team have a plan to expand #ESL for a smooth transition. Otherwise, JP Morgan won't be funding this whole fiasco.
These people can see #ESL will make money for them and these people only care for money, so do UEFA and FIFA. It's just happened that ESL is wanting more of that pie now.
It's easy for Bayern to reject the invitation. They are so dominant in Bundesliga, they will always qualify for #UCL and they will always recruit the best player in the league.
UEFA and FIFA should come to their senses as soon as possible for their own benefits. Banning players from now play in a major international match like World Cup only going to hurt their own brand.
Who would like to watch the world cup with 90% of football top players are not included? Are the sponsors going to be interested in sponsoring the event with a prospect of a final match Turkey vs Ireland?. Football is nothing with the fans and FIFA is nothing without the players.
All these fans who are mocking the owners as greedy or ruining the game are totally delusional. They are okay with billionaires invest money in their clubs, they are okay with their clubs buying players for hundreds of millions
but they are not okay for the club to make more money to fund all these activities. What a joke are these people. Football is the biggest sports in the world with around 4 billions unique fans and most of them are M40s and B40s, no wonder they can't make sense of what is going on
After being announced as founding members of the European Super League, publicly-traded Juventus & Manchester United are up BIG this yesterday.
$JUVE: +17%
$MANU: +10%
The 12 founding clubs are set to receive an upfront net grant of ~$4.2 billion collectively.
To put this into perspective, the highest any CL winner ever got was Barcelona in 2015, 118M Euro. For #ESL, these clubs each get 350M Euro just for participation fund and they haven't made a single kick yet.
Who are we to judge these club owners to accept these offer in a trying time like today?. And for these reasons, I am supporting #ESL.
