with Iran while it was trying to boost an anti Iran coalition as central plank of its foreign policy. Iraqis similarly can make themselves useful to Biden admin reportedly facilitating these talks, that also benefit their interests. Whereas Trump admin likely would have rejected

We would have been in such a bad place if these people had not been driven from power. We were very lucky in November and that the Jan. 6 coup attempt failed. These people need to be held accountable so this never happens again washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/…

EU official said he expects the talks in Vienna to go on for a few more days. And then he thinks two most relevant delegations will go back home to consult capitals for further instructions. We are reaching a point when decision capacity is back to the capitals.
He said of the apparent attack on Natanz and subsequent Iran decision to start 60% enrichment between the talks last week and this week: So these two issues make the negotiations a bit more difficult, but at the same time make it more urgent and important.
EU official: not exactly aware of how far along they are, but "the one thing is that we are closer than last week. This is definitely the case."
