Seeing the sudden surge in demand for Remdesivir for COVID19, manufacturing capacity of domestic Remdesivir manufacturers has been ramped up from 38 lakh vials per month to 74 lakh vials per month. Twenty additional manufacturing sites also approved: Union Health Ministry
Export of Remdesivir was prohibited on 11th April to shore up domestic supplies. To address reports of shortages of Remdesivir, Union Health Ministry with Dept of Pharmaceuticals has made interim allocation of Remdesivir for 19 States/UTs up to April 30: Union Health Ministry
14 states under oxygen allocation (1,000,350 in total) – Delhi (61,900), Gujarat (163,500), Maharashtra (269,200), Uttar Pradesh (122,800), Madhya Pradesh (92,400), Chhattisgarh (48,250), Kerala (16,100), Karnataka (25,400), Haryana (29,500) among others: Union Health Ministry
Remdesivir being an investigational therapy drug given in acute versions of COVID19 where oxygen support is a must, this (O2) allocation pertains to 14 states to which medical oxygen is issued & 5 states where high volume of supplies are being observed: Union Health Ministry
Control Room set up by National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) to monitor operations. Liaison Officers of Remdesivir manufacturers & officials of Ministry of Home Affairs, Dept of Pharmaceuticals, NPPA & CDSCO to be part of monitoring group: Union Health Ministry
