I have a date with a vaccine on Friday and you'd better believe that I'll be wearing fucking sequins because fucking finally! And yes there will be a picture.
I know because of massive inequalities around the world that we have a long way to go before everyone can be vaccinated. I am grateful that my first jab - which will be AstraZeneca - is on Friday. May we reach vaccine equity soon.
I believe that the risks for me from catching Covid are greater than the risk of taking AstraZeneca. #COVID19Vaccine
Thank you thank you and all love and solidarity to all sending me good wishes and cheering for my vaccine date!
This fucking pandemic. The ways it has ravaged so much. The immense loss, grief and sadness. I so appreciate the love. 💜✊🏽❤️

It is such a privilege to be vaccinated. Thank you Vi who administered the shot. I’m so grateful and hope everyone around the world can be vaccinated soon. We must demand and push for vaccine equity. 🎥 @rerutled
And Beloved @rerutled got dressed up too! Vi kindly took this picture of the two of us after she’d vaccinated us both - we were so excited and grateful! Get vaccinated as soon as you can! #COVID19Vaccine#AstraZenaca

Ambition is one of The Seven Necessary Sins For Women and Girls, which is out in Ireland and the U.K. today.
My ambition is much bigger than doing whatever a man can. I want to be free.
My latest essay highlights police brutality in the U.S., UK, Egypt, and Mexico. It is too easy to think another country's police is brutal--to point to "over there." Take a look at police "over here" too. And ask who protects us from police?
Who the police protect is conditional on who you are. I give an example from India, where the police often fail to record or investigate when lower-caste Dalit women are targeted for rape by upper caste men who usually escape justice. feministgiant.com/p/essay-fuck-t…
In the U.S.: “Black women and women of color who experience gendered violence rarely report to police, because of the systemic misogyny and racism that leads to survivors not being believed or supported,” write 8 to Abolition organizers Leila Raven, Mon Mohpatrra, and Rachel Kuo
Makiah Bryant, a 16yo Black girl, was murdered by police who she had called for help. They arrived and instead of breaking up a fight between girls, they shot her 4 times.
There is a hierarchy of protection: the further we are from wealthy, white, cisgender, heterosexual, able bodied men, the less likely we are to be protected.
I wrote that essay on Sunday, but can post it daily with a new name of a Black or person of colour police kill in the US.
And I don't give a fuck about what police say or their fucked up "reasons" for killing Makiah. They murdered a teenage girl. Who the fuck shoots a girl four times except thugs in a uniform who are licensed to kill? Fuck the police.
"I am writing to you because I want you to know that “getting along” & “uniting” & “being civil” w/white supremacist patriarchy makes you complicit in its crimes. We must never “get along” w/fascists.We must never “unite” w/white supremacists. We must always “argue” w/patriarchy"
