Wonder where all the"Herd Immunity"people disappeared to . The concept of herd immunity for disease control is not for natural infections &is for primarily vaccination strategy. Trying to achieve Herd immunity with even a low fatality disease can be disastrous at population level
Sweden toyed with it and a country with a population less than one of our Metropolis's had a tragically high mortality. Vaccine hesitant people in our country are paying the price for the second wave.
See any city mortality statistics - Most are >60 and >45 - the people with the initial dibs for the vaccine. If the vaccine was enthusiastically taken we would not have had inundating mortality

Was explaining to someone - nature is all about survival of the fittest. Fittest need not be strongest but the one that is cautious. Animals know it but we humans are so "developed" to have arrogantly forgotten it. Caveat emptor disregard - pay with your life
Mask sanitize Social distancing and vaccinate. The first 3 are survival techniques. Vaccination is cherry on the cake.
See nature coming into play the literally "unfit" antivaccine or non vaccine takers +60 and +45 who got first dibs are dying. Animalistic caution not exercised in survival mode. Elders not locked down and isolated despite repeated exhortations.

Amma after second dose of Covishield at 42 days and later at AEFI room. Please protect eyes nose & mouth properly.When going to get vaccinated . After vaccination sanitize properly & take bath with at least 30 seconds application of soap all over by timer.
Remember now mask is potentially contaminated. Put mask in paper bag or wide mouthed box without touching it. Use only afyer 3 days. Sanitize goggles . Sanitize hands. Soak and ( llater)Wash all clothes with soap and water. Sanitize hands. Detergent kills virus efficiently.
Remove gloves after sanitizing or wirh doap water. Apply soap to tap handle. Take off gloves off wash hands for 30 seconds with soap.Take full body bath with soap application timed to 30 seconds ( you will be surprised you leave it for less).

For those with vaccine hesitancy see the data for Karnataka . We have over 38.5 Lakh vaccination given . Only 2 severe AEFI and 23 serious AEFI and no deaths attributable to the vaccine (zero today) whereas we have had 18 deaths today in one day !!
Remember we were giving to the high risk and elderly group till today who had a higher chance of serious/severe AEFI technically and they have all tolerated it well. TAKE THE VACCINE
Also people think that they are very informed but no they are not the reality of COVID and its ill effects have been seen first hand by people like us. Do not get into various controversies and minutae. That's for the experts who are actively monitoring and more knowledgeable

For those>45 if you havent got vaccination slots on online booking please go 2 the closest center with full protection - mask &eye protection & you can ask for walk in slots. There are daily some walk in slots allotted.Its like booking versus standing in line for going to a movie
My Sister did not get her slot for booking today and we went to our hospital walk in slot and took it. center will have walk in slots. If you cannot get a slot take slot next day, Vaccinators will help. Only thing is that its a chance compared to booking
However this will also reduce the wastage of shots so please also be patient. A final 10 dose vial will not have wasted doses. So we will have more people vaccinated . The full vaccination potential of all centers are not used if walk in opportunity us not used

@PMOIndia @narendramodi @AmitShah Why are politicians getting infected and dying an analysis. Mask wearing in most are not proper. While communication cues with facial expression is desirable unmasked face is dangerous. We have published data on Cough spread.
I have reviewed videos and ALL politicians are not wearing masks properly. That needs to be corrected.
Pretesting of guards etc will NOT be enough. False negatives is around 20-30% with RTPCR so will pull into a false sense of security. Mask wearing still remains mandatory and will help educate the noncompliant masses

@BBMPCOMM @Captain_Mani72 People are coming from BBMP and taking house data .Asked my Mother to open door and "come close" Mother refused to come outside but talked through window and outside gate- She has been in reverse quarantine since Feb first week
She gave details of member and was asked her phone number - she gave it. Now today she gets a message that she has been in contact with a positive person (physically impossible).We have not even allowed my Uncle in home and both my Wife and I are Professors in SJIC
The message came from VM -KARONE. It is a blatant lie as she has not come in contact with anyone. We wear masks at home and practice reverse quarantine and Wife and I are tested and we go to work in full PPE !! My Mother was distraught as she is a perfectionist
