The fish died of "stress" means that the PH of the ocean was <8 (the idela ocean PH is 8.25) which caused an acidosis.

The fish came to the surface to breathe and had to go through the cold surface layer which contributed to the problem (more acidity in the surface waters) and they experienced what is called "hyperventilation", the opposite excess, a respiratory "alkalosis" (Continued)

with a too high PH in their bodies and they died (it is what they mean when they say fish died of stress)

It is always necessary to keep balance. A ph of 7 is said to be neutral. Sea water is basic (PH >7,therefore alkaline), the ocean has a PH around 8.25 but it decreases...

That means it acidifies and acidification is more marked in surface waters.

In addition, a decrease in O2 (deoxygenation) has been observed (fish have to come back to the surface to have O2). Acidity dissolves the shells of marine organisms....

and brings in predators like jellyfish. It is a scourge, get rid of them ! Jellyfish destroy the food chain, fish are looking for food in different marine layers and meet acidity on surface waters....the oceans are dying because of the multiplication of jellyfish...

The second scourge is agricultural chemical fertilizers, coming from the land. They decrease the oxygen in the estuaries (stop their use) 🕊️

And when you eat shell fish, give the shells back to the ocean, don't throw them in the dust bin.
