"Some enterprising Black families purchased property as a way to avoid sharecropping and achieve a measure of independence from White-dominated society." Could this read any more like "Scott's uppity black family dared not be beholden sharecroppers?" 1/
4/4 I don't seem to recall any such indepth reporting on Elizabeth Pocohantas Warren's claims either, which were false. Yet they try to present Senator Scott as a liar because his family picked cotton on land they owned instead of sharecropped. Un.Real.
Post-Twitt: This history actually helps explain why Scott is a Republican.

@shipwreckedcrew OMgosh....shipwrecked!!!! I saw the ADF press release and then immediately saw Noem's response which sounded very solid, so I paused and spent the weekend reading the text to see who had better position. 1/
@shipwreckedcrew 2/ I had 3 drafts substantivelly different drafts before I finalized because I was doing a deep-dive, not a knee-jerk reaction which I do here:
When I'm helping DS with math, if he makes a mistake and I ask him, he'll continue to say the mistake is the correct answer even though he knows it isn't. He said he just doesn't want to admit he's wrong. (I already told him that's a deal-breaker for most women!). So, 1/
2/ this afternoon I wrongly said he should still have 2 bags of "pop-its" left, since there were 4 and he used 2. He then walked me through saying: "Remember 1 used on a walk with you & dad & you said you were surprised they lasted the whole walk." Me: "Yes." Him: "And I
3/ "use one on a walk with you when they're were a bunch of duds." Me: "Yes. That's 2." Him: "And I used 1 on a walk with dad & you and put one in his hood. Me: "Yes. That's 3. So you should have 2 left."
THREAD: Biden Administration is implementing a stealth strategy to ignore APA mandates, but Ohio and 18 other states & @AllianceDefends caught on after successfully executing in public charge case @EdWhelanEPPC wrote about. This is huge. Piece up at The Federalist. 1/
3/ Third attempt is in its infancy stages. @WSJopinion highlighted it yesterday wsj.com/articles/biden… but didn't connect the dots. My piece today does.
