Marriage is Upanayana for women:
According to Shastras the bride should treat her husband as both Guru & Eshwara & surrender her heart to him. She will be able to adapt to such an attitude then.Wholehearted surrender and samarpanam is the bay 1/4
to liberate oneself .The concept of surrender as proclaimed in the charama sloga of Gita, if done to Ishwara, Guru or husband is enough. Iswaran will give his Grace through the one to whom the surrender was made .According to the system devised by the sages, a boy is made to 2/4
surrender to his Guru at the time of his upanayana ceremony, while a girl does the same to her husband at the time of her marriage. It is not that the girl is considered inferior and asked to surrender to a man (that is her husband). The boy too is asked to surrender to a 3/4
a Guru. More than superior or inferior, right and position, if purity of mind is considered as big, then surrender becomes very important. For this reason only upanayana have been kept for men and marriage have been kept for women.4/4
