Modi’s government has walked into a humanitarian disaster of epic proportions *despite* these advantages. You can’t run a country with this small shopkeeper mentality. Who are the epidemiologists guiding policy ? Why did govt contract for just 100 million vaccine doses?
UK had ordered 5x its population in vaccines (300 million doses). Similar for US. Modi ordered 10% of India’s population! What the hell was going on? Why has vaccination still not gathered real pace ? Looks like modis “experts” at niti aayog (lol) didn’t factor in mutations
Looks like Modi & his “experts” thought its okay to vaccinate only the elderly. India’s young population wouldn’t be much effected. Well, if Modi consulted an epidemiologist instead of the one all knowing heart surgeon about this they would’ve mentioned viral mutations.
The virus has now mutated and is attacking the young with a vengeance. A disaster is unfolding. The government has little clue what to do apart from more PR & more authoritarian oppression. All this could’ve been avoided had a gappu not been on the throne.
