I just got a new SUV and invited my friend Philip for a test ride.

It's new, it's bold, so we decided to take it off road for a real spin.

We were able to easily ride out of ditches and sandy areas as my powerful SUV was able to overcome all with little effort.

A thread.
We then encountered a river,

“This is the fun part!” I told Philip, as we approached the slow moving river

The four wheels were engaged with traction.

The water slowly rose as we moved forward...
As we approached the other side of the river I felt one tire lose traction. I quickly turned the wheels to find solid ground.

We kept moving.

As we approached the other side of the river, our vehicle got stuck in mud.
"Don't worry, Philip...

I got this" I said while turning the wheels and giving it more power.

"I will get us out of this, this machine is a beast" I said.

My friend looked at me with concern, wanted to offer help but I was confident that I would be able to get us out.
I turned the wheels searching for traction. I went forward and used the reverse repeatedly, but the more I accelerated the deeper we got stuck in the mud.

“You should stop Sam” Philip said.

I didn’t want to give up

“I can do this” I said while pushing the gas pedal even harder
It turned into a very frustrating and costly weekend.

What was I thinking?

Well, the truth was that I was not thinking! I had lost my mind trying to solve this problem following my instincts.

I used so much power that now we couldn’t get out of this giant pile of mud!
It’s not uncommon for us entrepreneurs to spin our wheels.

All this wasted energy starts to erode our patience.

We know it is the perfect time to make significant changes but we don’t have the mind for it, we have instincts instead.
As entrepreneurs, we’re driven.

We’re self motivated and commonly fired up by passion — the very same ‘fuel’ that makes us unstoppable.

We’re doers, we take action. We don’t ask for permission, we go, we chase, we pursue, we go after our goals.
Frustrations take over our emotions. Emotions and business never mix well together. Emotions will get us spinning out of control and won’t let us think!

Remember, the best way to solve our problems in business (or in life) is very simple:

ASK FOR HELP!
We all face roadblocks.

Don't try to do it alone

Leave your pride, your energy, your stubbornness and your passion behind.

Find help, there’s always someone who knows the answer to your problem.

Stop trying to solve everything yourself.

Business success is found in teamwork

Did you know?

88% of millionaires are self made?

They weren't born into their wealth, their habits led them to their wealth.

A thread...
I may not be a millionaire yet, but I have been around quite a lot of them and can tell you exactly how they think.

The 6 biggest difference between them and us.
1. Belief

The Rich: Believe they can succeed even when no one believes them

The Poor: They are dependent on other people's opinions, they don't believe they can do it.

1. The Man Who Asks a Question Is a Fool for a Minute. The man who does not ask is a fool for life.

Whenever you have a question, just ask.

You hardly have anything to lose, but all the wisdom to gain

Which option do you prefer?

A. I flip a coin. Heads, I give you $100,000.
Tails, you get nothing.

B. I give you $1000.

What is the single most underrated trait a person can have?

A thread...
Of course, like 90% of people, you’d take the $1,000, even though the expected value of the gamble is $50,000.

In economics, the $49,000 difference is called risk premium.

If you’re willing to take on risk, you stand to gain a large reward.
The reason most people aren’t is that they spend their entire lives chasing certainty

When you hold your breath, you lose it"

5 dirty marketing tricks that we fall for in our everyday lives.

A thread...
1. False Urgency.

There are two ways this presents itself, either the product is presented as to have a very limited stock, thus the customer must choose to have the product now or never.

Or the product is part of a "limited time offer," again pushing the now or never decision.
This is the most popular trick in the Money Twittersphere

This tries to make the consumer feel like they'll miss out on a great opportunity if they don't buy now.

You see things like:

"14 left"

"Only for the first 5 people"

"For the next 30mins"

"Deleting after 5mins" 😂

Unleach your full potentials

7 Quotes from @TonyRobbins, one of the most known motivational speakers of our time.

1. When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears.

When we live in fear and keep reminding ourselves of what we lack, that’s precisely what we attract even more into our lives

More fear and more lack
2. Every problem is a gift — without problems, we would not grow

Don’t shrink back from challenges. Instead, embrace them.

Don’t take the path of least resistance, take the path that will teach you most.

The more problems you face, the stronger you’ll get.
