I grew from 700 to 15K followers in 9 months.

Here are 12 reasons why I think that happened (and how you can do it faster):
Reason:

I built good relationships

Example:

Actively engaged with small and big accounts in their replies, and moved the conversations to DMs when possible.

What You Can Implement:

Spend at least 50% of your time replying and DMing, not just creating and scrolling.
Reason:

I wrote about simple ideas

Example:

I stuck to really simple ideas and formats around marketing, product launches, and modern work

What You Can Implement:

Write your tweets to be easily understood by a 10-year-old and use simple formatting.
Reason:

I got lucky multiple times

Example:

I had a few tweets really take off (Who would you most want to follow you, CopyAI announcement).

What You Can Implement:

Be a good person. Create and engage. Luck will come to you eventually.
Reason:

I involved the community

Example:

I invited y'all to help me pick brand colors, fonts, copy, etc. I tried to give you a voice in my own tweets.

What You Can Implement:

Don't just give commands and advice on Twitter. Bring other people up on stage!
Reason:

I stayed (pretty) consistent

Example:

I've tweeted multiple times almost every single day for 9 months. Even when I didn't want to and things weren't working.

What You Can Implement:

Set a goal for yourself. Let the quantity of your work lead to quality of work.
Reason:

I wasn't scared of failing

Example:

I launched products that flopped. I learned from the losses and added them to the wins.

What You Can Implement:

Ship things. Make content. Build products. You either make money and get followers, or you gain wisdom for next time.
Reason:

I gathered experience

Example:

I spent 7 years learning from the ground up and took notes along the way. Then I shared it.

What You Can Implement:

Take notes on your learnings. Know your 2-3 core topics and talking points. Then share every last bit of it.
Reason:

I interviewed great people

Example:

I started a podcast to learn from great audience builders. I asked them questions I wanted answers to.

What You Can Implement:

Start meeting with people on Zoom. Record your conversations. Learn from them. And do what they say.
Reason:

I used mystery

Example:

I shared high-value content, but only gave them away in DMs. This created intrigue.

What You Can Implement:

Make a lead magnet. Tweet about it and say "If you want it, comment below and I'll DM it to you." Then start a chat in the DMs.
Reason:

I began focusing more

Example:

I shifted from making content on LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Podcast, TikTok, etc. to just Twitter and Podcast.

What You Can Implement:

If you are just starting, focus on one platform and go all in. Expand when you have an audience.
Reason:

I joined a hot company

Example:

I joined @copy_ai as CMO in February. The company is very popular on Twitter, and that gave me a boost.

What You Can Implement:

This path isn't for everyone. If it is for you, try it out!
Reason:

I launched products

Example:

I made multiple digital products and one SaaS (so far) that people seemed to care about. The support was really overwhelming.

What You Can Implement:

Don't just think of ideas. Bring them to life. The community will back you 100%.
Reason:

I was vulnerable

Example:

I shared my wins, losses, strengths, weaknesses, and weird facts about me.

What You Can Implement:

Be openly yourself.
