CJI NV Ramana led three-judge bench of #SupremeCourt to hear a plea seeking transfer of Kerala journalist Sidhique Kappan to AIIMS, Delhi from Mathura, UP, citing medical emergency

The plea filed by Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ) said that Kappan had collapsed in bathroom at the Mathura jail and later tested positive for COVID-19.

Soon after Kappan's wife too addressed an application to CJI Ramana stating that presently Kappam was "chained like an animal" to a hospital bed in Mathura. She sought his return back to jail.
