The beginning of of Ramadan (Tues/Wed) is based on the moon

Most Muslims will follow their local mosque & those mosques often follow another country (Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Pakistan), or a specific ruling.

This thread aims to explain the variation

moonsighting.com/1442rmd.html
Why have some already chosen Tuesday as 1st Ramadan?

Option 1: Assume birth of the moon (on Monday night) is sufficient, even if is not visible in your locality / anywhere in the world

Option 2: Rely on sightability of the moon on Monday night in e.g. Hawaii/S America
See the colours in the moonsighting graphs -> the more to the left you go, the more likely the moon is to be seen in those areas on Monday night; note the latitudinal difference too

The key explains at the bottom

Unsurprising to see Andy Ngo found out again lying.

This is not new for him, and he often gets significant space to spout his hate
ICYMI: Journalist Andy Ngo loses job after publication of undercover video of him with right-wing group

ICYMI: Right-wing "journalist" Andy Ngo outed: Video shows him hanging out with far-right hate group

Ngo was embraced by Ted Cruz and interviewed by Jake Tapper. But maybe he was just an alt-right troll all along

The Quilliam Foundation has been closed for good.
ICYMI: Quilliam Foundation - co-founded by Maajid Nawaz - prepared a secret list for a top British security official accusing peaceful Muslim groups, politicians, a television channel and a Scotland Yard unit of sharing the ideology of terrorists.

ICYMI: The Quilliam Foundation report on grooming gangs was one of its biggest claims to fame, where it claimed 84% of “grooming gang offenders” were Asian. This has been widely debunked by experts & a Home Office report

Banning the hijab (& other ostentatious religious signs) in domestic sport in France is *another* example of Islamophobia being driven by state institutions under the guise of laïcité (& CT)

It is difficult to conclude anything other than the French state is targeting Muslims
ICYMI French Senate prohibited parents from wearing visible religious signs when accompanying kids on school trips

Muslim women wearing a headscarf, who volunteer to help, are being targeted

ICYMI: Here is the French interior minister stopping funding for an NGO because it defended the rights of Muslim women to wear a Burkini in the pool/sea.

Bari Weiss proclaims she is proud to share a stage & show admiration to Ayaan Hirsi Ali - whose hatred for & enmity against the faith of Islam is so deep that she believes Muslims must be crushed militarily & in all forms

Appalling (albeit unsurprising) Image
It's difficult to believe Weiss is unaware of Hirsi Ali's longstanding and public hate for mainstream (not "radical") Islam & advocacy for racism targeting Muslims

Hirsi Ali calls Islam "the new fascism" & "a destructive, nihilistic cult of death"

Shawcross said: “..Islam is one of the greatest, most terrifying problems of our future. I think all European countries have vastly, very quickly growing Islamic populations"

He supported torture & the worst breaches of law in the "War on Terror"

One wonders why bother....
For those who want to see more about Shawcross and what he thinks, see this thread & it may make sense why there are few worse or more frightening people to have this role

I have had messages saying things like:

"This can't be true, they don't hate us that much do they?"

"This is truly frightening"

"This must be a kite flying exercise"

"They can't be doing this intentionally"

I guess the government genuinely doesn't care.
