The news of Alliance between DP Ruto and David Ndii and other “Kibaki Economists” was big news last Sunday. This is none of my business.
But again both Ndii and DP are national figures and politics is our business.
I wanna say something
With all due respect to the supporters of WSR, He has not been a model citizen of Kenya. We all yearn for patriotic leadership.
We are currently crying and suffering because our country has been auctioned to the foreigners - esp China treat us like their colony
Patriotism is where a country comes first. Patriotic leaders rally their people to sacrifice for the country so that we can bequeath a better nation to our children.
And redeem our shattered image in Africa where we are always regarded as incapable of self rule.
We aspire for justice, where rule of law reigns supreme. Where every person is equal before the law and crimes are punished according to the law.

On the understanding the justice is the foundation of a peaceful, stable and prosperous nation
We aspire for a nation where hard work pays and becomes a culture. On the understanding that true national prosperity comes from honest enterprise and long lasting investments, guided by independent regulations.
As opposed state manipulated economy and tenderpreneurship
An honest interrogation of the DP’s political profile does not inspire hope. It sounds like thesis on “what ails Kenya.”
The catalogue of allegations against him are too much for a Presidential candidate of a respectable nation. Only that WE ARE NOT A RSPECTABLE NATION.
Why would Ruto be looking for new faces for his campaign drive? I submit its an admission that he has an image crisis. That his CV has a blemish and needs a political face mask – in the name of Kibaki era economist. They are now crafting a façade of economic revolution
The common defense is that he has never been convicted. Which is lame. The presumption of innocent until proven guilty is a principle of law that is meant to PROTECT THE INNOCENT.
In Kenya, we use it to protect the guilty – the rich and powerful. We use it to defeat justice
The DP launched his political career from the Kanu militia group called YK’92. So much national wealth was wasted to fund a youthful group of people to support Kanu and Moi.

They sponsored massacre of people in Rift Valley to cause widespread scare
In return they were given a blank cheque by Moi to kill anybody who was an obstacle. They were allowed to grab any available public asset and sell it for a song.

This when DPs close colleague Cyrus Jirongo milked NSSF dry through tenderpreneurship
The 500 shillings note was printed amid serious inflation caused by massive looting of the economy. This note was informally named TYCOON Jirongo.

After further inflation, a higher denomination of 1,000 was produced. This was called Pattini after the prime thief of the time
Our economy between 1990 and 2000 was just wastage, state corruption and political violence.

Whether we like it or not this is the DP’s political school. This is what built him financially and politically. That is ILLEGAL WEALTH, TRIBAL POLITICS and POLITICAL VIOLENCE
This waste of national wealth is why we don’t have schools. Is the reason we don’t have dispensaries and hospitals in the country.

Is the reason corruption flourishes in Kenya, because we created a culture of greed and political patronage rather than merit and hard work
It hurts me. YES AM VERY JEALOUS. That a person who has been in the frontline killing our country would turn out to be a beneficiary of the best brains around

The products of the good education system which is no longer possible because of his kind of politics
I pity Kenya. That all it takes to become a leader is to subvert political systems to amass wealth. Then use the money to bribe supporters with churches donations and wheelbarrows.
And “sponsor” the best academics to rewrite your history as a champion of BOTTOMS-UP ECONOMICS
My predictions for the alliance - NEXT

Kibaki is a model citizen. A great patriot and one of the most distinguished politicians Kenya has produced.
The Hustler movement wants to wear a hollow mask of his qualities. POLITICAL MIMICRY. Part 3
I defend Ndiis right to his political choices. Same way I defend Raila Odingas. These are great Kenyans in their own right.
Kenyans have admired and demonized both at different turns when it is convenient. Are Kenyans worth sacrificing for anyway?
Ndii and Raila hold no public office. We must let them be. We have no contract with any of them to please us in their choice of political camps.

Mine is therefore not criticism of Ndii for his political ideas and choices. He is entitled to them

Ndii has in the past accused Raila of laundering Uhuru corruption. In principle, he is doing the same.

He is using his national and international professional esteem to launder sleaze by shoring up a career battered by integrity crisis. Part 2
In a past thread I said person BEHOLDEN to corruption cannot fight it. All Kenyan Presidents so far had better predisposition to fight corruption but failed.

Ruto is the least primed to fight corruption. Bcos He is too entangled in corruption lineage.

The people salivating for a Ruto Presidency in the Rift Valley are not motivated by love for Kenya.

IT IS HANG OVERS OF ENTITLEMENT TO GOVERNMENT RESOURCES AND OFFICES.

It is nostalgia for the good old days of Moi where a community was entitled to impunity

Something happened during Kibaki’s tenure that would later transform Kenya’s business environment and become a critical economic platform.
That small innovation was called MPESA.
It may turn out to be Kibaki’s greatest but UNINTENDED legacy
Someone once said INVENTION IS THE MOTHER OF NECESSITY- corrupting the popular proverb which says the opposite.
MPESA was not a necessity before it came to our lives, it is a necessity only after it was invented, tried, and used by consumers.
I recall the speech to honour the founder of McDonalds fast foods.
It was stated he touched American life so much that “any student in America just wants to confirm wherever he goes for education THERE IS A GOOD HOSTEL AND A MCDONALD NEARBY.”

Was Kibaki the best President so far? I doubt it.

As I said in a previous thread, MISSING KIBAKI IS SHAMEFUL INDICTMENT OF UHURU GOVERNMENT RATHER THAN A SIGN OF KIBAKI’S GREATNESS

To me, the best President remains Jomo Kenyatta.

He made many mistakes:
Betrayed Mau Mau cause
Set a precedent of tribalism by creating Kikuyu hegemony
Set a precedent of corruption through land grabbing.
But I still vote him the best among the 4
Jomo Kenyatta's leadership was much more professional and forward-looking. Kenya laid very strong foundations and institutions under Kenyatta.

The education system, health, agriculture, civil service, strong and strategic parastatal companies

If there is one thing to learn from the interviews for CJ, it is HOW TO CONDUCT PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES.
Herding 8 candidates one evening and asking them questions for 10 minutes is not a presidential debate. That is just a waste of time

nation.africa/kenya/news/pro…
If the media is serious about interrogating presidential candidates, they should pull resources and carry out similar “interviews.” Each candidate should have a full day to themselves.
They answer questions about their visions, their past, their abilities, etc. Full day
And the time to do it is not 2 weeks before the elections. And YES, I know it's not “that easy”. But that is the way it should be done.
I am talking to you, media people.

For Kenyans to miss Kibaki whose government was so average, Uhuru must have failed them big time. Part 4
Moi had so many apologists- in government, academia, legal fraternity, private sector, in politics. Most of them had resigned to the fact of a new Kenya and sought to adjust to the new dispensation.
But Kibaki’s leadership crisis gave them a moral victory
The constant wrangling in Kibaki government and a subdued President who could not command authority made people miss Mois authoritarian leadership.

"Afadhali Moi" was now an openly expressed sentiment. From Moi must go to Moi must come
