Self-education is different from education.

1. Education is when you learn something because you have to.

2. Self-education is when you learn because you want to.
In a world where people educate, self educate

That's how you stick out
Learning for fun seems like a foreign concept.

'That's because it is!'

No, it's not.

'Yes, it is..'

Actually let's put the spotlight on you
Have you ever learned anything on your own?

Just because it was fun...

'Yea, I know the game of basketball inside and out.'
Did you always know it inside and out?

'Not really. It took years to build more insights regarding it.'

That's you self educating
On a day by day basis, the average person is absorbing a lot of energy:

-media
-interactions with others
-random occurces
The absorbed energy creates a surplus in the internal world

That's why smart people release the surplus energy in the form of a hobby
'What if I don't want a hobby?'

Then a hobby finds you

And when a hobby finds you, it comes masked as a bad habit
Bad habits take the life of:

-excessive pornography, alcoholism, cigarette addiction etc
It's because the surplus of energy within seeks an escape

'Why bad habits before good habits?'

Because bad habits seem to be more convenient
'Why did you use the word seem?'

Because bad habits SEEM to be more convenient

Bu good habits can be just as convenient
'Do you enjoy learning about basketball as much as you enjoy drinking alcohol?'

I like basketball more

Okay, so that proves that learning can be a suitable hobby.

A hobby that brings more pleasure for the surplus of emotions than a bad habit
The problem is with narratives

Imagine a boy who went thru a bad breakup with a girl & his view on girls are forever jaded

That's like the most people's relationship with learning
Especially people who view school learning as the only learning out there

Where a curriculum was designed and given to you

Tests, pop quizzes and homework were given
Education soon picked up the narrative of 'work.'

When looking for a hobby, the last thing someone wants to do is 'work.'

So the jaded narrative of education causes the body to bypass the possibility of learning
Wise people understand that school learning is much different than self-education.

'What's the BIGGEST difference?'

The biggest difference is that personality is factored in with self education
For example:

My experience in my life included, engineering, public speaking, writing, sports etc

These are the fingerprint of my personality

Each fingerprint is different
So I learn about topics that interest me and align with my experiential database

And that makes learning a hobby

Sort of like with you and basketball
Therefore, formal education does not necessarily require introspection

Self education cannot exist without introspection
'What if I try to self educate without introspection?'

Then you aren't self-educating

You are following the school paradigm in the real world
Look at the trending section on Twitter right now

That's what data engineers, social scientists & algorithms have planned for the masses

The masses look at that, and form their thoughts around those trending topics

A curriculum has been designed for them
Wise people understand self education factors in personality

When personality is factored in, that's when you get unique content as well
Several insights around the world may ring similar patterns

However, the PATH taken to reach those insights are completely unique
That's why great artists don't steal

Great artists learn from themselves

And the results are learning more from the world
'How do I know if I am doing self education correctly?'

When it leaves you feeling happier with more clarity.

'How do I know if I am doing self education incorrectly?'

When you are forcing yourself to focus
Focus happens on autopilot when curiosity leads the way

Curiosity happens on autopilot when your personality is leading the way

Personality leads the way when introspection & self education are joined at the hip

Rather than foolishly separated
Learn because you want to

Not because you have to
Luckily, learning because you want to, allows you to pick up the topics need to learn because you have to

Let's say topics you are forced to learn at a job, that don't interest you
Because when basic learning frameworks are picked up in self education, it's easier to cross apply in multiple fields

Meanwhile, find the topics like basketball in your world
When you don't look for a hobby

A hobby finds you

And a hobby finding you normally comes looking like a 3 headed, horrendous monster

You don't kill the ego.

You tame the ego.

If you try killing the ego, then you get a 'nice guy.'

If you try taming the ego, you get social & emotional intelligence.
'I think I get what you're saying. But I don't think 100% get it.'

Which part?

'Actually, I don't get it at all.'

ok, lets start with the basics
What is the nice guy?

'A person who is kind?'

Not quite

Kind and nice are different at a fundamental level

Build a life where you get paid for your curiosities
'This sounds cool & all bro. But that's just flat out impossible!'

Why do you say that?

'Uh...'

Its bc you're carrying Industrial age belief systems into the information age 👀👇
You're sort of like the guy from the agriculture age

They refused to accept the industrial age

So they held onto their precious horses

Calling cars a fad

One of the reasons you feel lonely is because you over analyze who you don't have & undermine the people who stay by your side
Loneliness is a rite of passage towards confidence.

A walk that we must all make at one point in our life...👇
One problem that the mind has is that it's always in searching mode.

It's a gift & a curse

Toxic people rarely just leave & that's it

They try to come back, masked in a sweeter form
'Why do I get bitten by the same snakes so many times?'

Because you don't know about the dance...👇
'The dance?'

Yes, the dance

An important social principle you want to understand when dealing with toxicity

'I'm ugly, any tips?'

How are you ugly?

'Uh...i'm short and my face looks like sasquatch.'

You're focusing a lot on what you can't control.

Focus on what you can.

Lift weights, dress nice & fix your personality.

Remember, handsome is physical.

Attractive is behavioral
'So ugliness can be fixed?'

It's not a game of fixing..

It's a game of playing with variables.

Sort of like math 👀👇
Confidence is an equation that you need to solve in CONTEXT to your life.

Not someone else's
