In reporting on Giuliani's alleged work as a unregistered agent for foreign interests, and talking to him a bit, I was struck by his arrogance. He didn't seem to understand FARA. And he just blew off questions. nytimes.com/2021/04/28/nyr…
This story from way back in 2019, based substantially on reporting by the Times and Post, quoted some FARA lawyers on why Rudy appeared to have a real legal problem. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…
Giuliani's former pals, Parnas and Fruman got Giuliani to endorse a company called Fraud Guarantee for $500,000 - money they raised by persuading one "investor" to pay Rudy directly. They were later indicted for defrauding that guy, it appears, and others. motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
There is no indication that Giuliani knew the company he got half a million dollars to endorse was, according to federal prosecutors, a complete con. But shouldn't this famed prosecutor who says he "can smell" crimes have known the guy who gave him $500K was getting swindled?

In new sanctions on Russia, Treasury bars U.S. banks from lending to key Russian gov institutions. That's a response to actions Russia took while facing (narrower) sanctions. Seems certain US will need better diplomacy too to change Kremlin's behavior. home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel…
In designating Konstantin Kilimnik, to whom Paul Manafort gave polling data in 2016, Treasury says that "Kilimnik provided the Russian Intelligence Services with sensitive information on polling and campaign strategy" during that campaign. talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/new-…
While receiving polling data, which OFAC says he gave to Russian intelligence, Kilimnik sought something in return: Trump's support for creating a semi-autonomous pro-Russian Eastern Ukraine. Manafort entertained that idea. motherjones.com/politics/2019/…

An infamous international operator signed on to lobby for Myanmar's junta. What is he really up to? motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
Ari Ben-Menashe, a notorious Israeli-Canadian operator/lobbyist/commodity trader/bit Iran Contra figure, is registered in the US to act as foreign agent for Myanmar, though US sanctions on Myanmar's junta bar US persons from providing services to them. motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
National security lawyers say that Ben-Menashe's lobbying people in the US for Myanmar may violate US sanctions even if he does it from outside the country. (He's based in Canada.) He disputes this. motherjones.com/politics/2021/… Image

Watch Roger Stone's Oath Keeper bodyguards practice head shots to "#stopantifa" motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
Federal prosecutors have charged 10 Oath Keepers with conspiring to disrupt Congress on 1/6 and said the plot included “attending or scheduling trainings to learn paramilitary combat tactics.” motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
In this video, some of the Oath Keepers charged, Kelly Meggs, Connie Meggs, and others who like them later acted as security for Roger Stone at events in Florida and DC, engage in the kind of paramilitary training prosecutors seem to be talking about.

At least five Oath Keepers who did security for Roger Stone have been charged with taking part in the 1/6 attack on the Capitol. motherjones.com/politics/2021/… Stone says never met his security guards; didn't see their faces. But here he is with his security detail from a 12/14 event. Image
Two people in this picture, Graydon Young, far right, and Connie Meggs, to left of Stone, are Oath Keepers charged with conspiring to stop Congress from certifying Biden's victory and other crimes related to the breach of the Capitol. motherjones.com/politics/2021/…
Oath Keepers Jessica Watkins and Donovan Crowl talked about providing security for Roger Stone in DC on January 5 and 6. (Not clear they did.) That makes at least 7 Oath Keepers who’ve been charged in 1/6 attack who did security for Stone or discussed it. cnn.com/2021/03/18/pol…

Rob Minuta, a tattoo artist who was one of the Oath Keepers who provided security for Roger Stone on January 5, then took part in the attack on the Capitol on 1/6, was arrested Saturday near Newburgh, NY. nbcnewyork.com/investigations….
Minuta's arrest is bad news, you'd think, for the at least five other Oath Keepers who were also part of Stone's security detail and then stormed the Capitol. Stone denies involvement/advance knowledge of the attack. If that's false, it's also bad for him. nytimes.com/interactive/20…
“I do not know Mr. Minuta.” -Roger Stone on the arrest of Rob Minuta, who was part of Stone’s security detail on 1/5, for taking part in the Capitol riot the next day.

Rohrabacher in 2017 revealed he'd offered to help Assange get a pardon in exchange for info suggesting Russians didn't hack Dems in '16. (They did.) But it's wild to see the video. Spain's La Sexta, which aired it, says it was secretly recorded by agents protecting the embassy.
This meeting came up last year when Assange's lawyers cited it to argue against his extradition. But there's no evidence Trump or the WH okayed offering Assange a pardon. John Kelly blocked Rohrabacher from meeting with Trump about this scheme. businessinsider.com/john-kelly-blo…
There's no audio of the meeting. A security contractor for the Ecuadorian Embassy, UC Global, was spying on Assange and made the tape. Ex-employees allege the firm's owner, David Morales, sold info to the CIA. He is awaiting trial in Spain. english.elpais.com/spanish_news/2…
