...was standing as pursuer for 10,000 members of the Scottish Electorate backing the case, I did not have the right to ask a simple question about our own parliament because I am NOT A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT.
This is one of the primary reasons I am running for Mid-Scotland and Fife in the Scottish Elections - no other elected person can join the case (because it's at appeal stage) and become a pursuer, so I am trying to do it the other way around.
The UK Government advanced absolutely no argument against our arguments that the Scottish Parliament could legislate for indyref2 tomorrow WITHOUT Westminster's consent. They only ever argued against the publics right to ask this question of the court.
In other words, if this needs to go to the supreme court (and if we win the UK Government will probably appeal) being both an MSP the pursuer means there's no more question over standing.
Some have made the accusation that I pursued this case out of ego, they are wrong. There are far better ways of doing that sort of thing without exposing yourself to bankruptcy and the destruction of your financial future at the hands of the Government.
Both Governments have delayed and have taken actions in this case simply to run up costs, delay and to go out to do just that - and they've used taxpayers unlimited funds to do it. It's something when you have to face bankruptcy just to ask a simple question...

...to prove that the Scottish Parliament could legislate for and call indyref 2 tomorrow without a section 30 order. I made a commitment to 10,000 people, I think I have kept that commitment and one way or another, I intend to see this through.
