Important updates from today's meeting
Oxygen supply will be created for an additional 10,000 beds in Government hospitals, taking the total to about 20,000 beds

In September 2020, there were 18,232 Covid beds in the State (both Government and Private Sector). This has now been increased to 49,133 beds. Special efforts are on to further increase the number to 60,000 beds.

Arrangements are on to procure another 5 lakh free medical kits in addition to the existing stock of 7.5 lakh for Covid patients in home isolation and other symptomatic persons.

Update on Vaccination: Govt. of India had indicated only 4.4 lakh doses for Telangana for May, 2021 against a population of 1.72 crore persons in the 18-44 years age group. Chief Secretary has written a letter to allot more vaccine for the State.

Update on Vaccination: Govt of India has indicated allotment of only 8.35 lakh doses for first fortnight of May against a requirement of 30.45 lakh doses for second dose (for persons above 45 years). CS has written to Govt. of India for enhanced allocation.

Update on Oxygen: Due to constant monitoring, use of IAF aircraft and railway rakes to send tankers to Odisha, oxygen supply is maintained at satisfactory levels in the state.

Update on Oxygen: However with increased occupancy, need for oxygen will grow. Efforts are on to augment Oxygen supplies. Chief Secretary has written to GoI to allocate 600 MT oxygen to the State against present allocation of 430 MT per day.

Important update about Coronavirus COVID-19 case reported in Hyderabad. A 24 year old techie who works in Bengaluru had traveled to Dubai on 17th Feb on official work. Apparently few of his teammates came from Hongkong. He came back to India after four days. 1/n
The said techie came to Hyderabad from Bengaluru in a bus. He fell sick after reaching Hyderabad and took initial treatment at Apollo Hospitals, Secunderabad branch. The patient is now transferred to Gandhi hospital and is being treated in isolation ward. 2/n
CM Sri KCR has instructed the Health Dept and Municipal Administration Department to take necessary precautions. Isolation wards have been set up in Gandhi Hospital and Chest Hospital in Hyderabad.
