Michigan Trump supporters do the “MAGA dance” at a parking lot rally in Walker. Three Republican hopefuls for congress and one running for governor here.
Patrick Colbeck, one of the loudest proponents of voter fraud claims, calls the 2020 election a “coup.” He later suggested there’s still time for judges to overturn the result.
Colbeck, a former state senator, endorses documentaries made by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and says he’s coming to Michigan next month.
Audra Johnson is running to primary @RepMeijer. Several people in the crowd called Meijer a traitor when Johnson criticized his vote to impeach Trump for inciting an insurrection. Johnson says they’re right.
Conservative radio host Tudor Dixon says Gov. Whitmer supports rapists and cartels because the feds and an Albion nonprofit signed a facilities agreement to house unaccompanied migrant children.
The rally featured a lot of anti-vax rhetoric as Michigan COVID cases surge. Here’s Christina Parks, a biologist who speaks at vaccine choice and religious freedom events around the state.

“There’s a lot of people who are vaccine hesitant. They need you to finish the job off.”

At one point during a "Michigan Against Vaccine Passports" rally in Lansing yesterday, there was discussion of "5G radiation" being used to push back immigrants at the southern border.
Michigan for Safe Technology organizer Jeanine Deal explained how her activism around "wireless radiation" overlaps with anti-vax movement.

"There's a lot of things that correlate with the vaccine choice issue. Just because you can't feel it doesn't mean it's not doing harm." Image
Rachel Weaver with Guardians of Freedom Michigan said the state is in a worse position compared to a year ago, when we were under a stay-at-home order. Virtually all of the restrictions in place at that time are gone.

.@GovWhitmer set a goal of vaccinating 70% of the state before ending mask requirements. Ryan Kelley, a Republican seeking to challenge her in 2022, disputed vaccine safety at a rally in Lansing.

"I don't want to be a guinea pig, and I don't want any of you to be a guinea pig."
Kelley called COVID-19 vaccines "experimental." Safety trials were completed before FDA approved their use. He said parents don't want children to be a "guinea pig." Vaccines aren't available for people under 16. Pfizer recently asked FDA to expand use for 12-15 age range.
KELLEY: "Have you had enough of the media telling you that without the vaccine, life is not going to continue as normal? I'm here to tell you today, life will go on as normal here in America, because you, I and many of us ... are standing up and saying, we have had enough."

.@samueljrob and take a deep look at a West Michigan planning commissioner who participated in the Capitol siege and announced a campaign for Michigan’s top office. Ryan Kelley spent the last year organizing right-wing outrage and embracing militias.

mlive.com/politics/2021/…
Throughout 2020, Kelley built a following among aggrieved Michiganders under the banner of the American Patriot Council. Kelley, often flanked by armed paramilitary groups, spread misinformation about COVID-19 and called for the arrest of government officials he labeled traitors.
At least 7 of the 14 men arrested for plotting to kidnap Whitmer attended Kelley's events. Immediately after their arrest, the APC experienced a big boost in traffic to its webpage and social media accounts. Kelley denounced them but speculated they were treated unfairly.

<Content Warning> Footage released to @MLive by U.S. Attorney's office shows why federal prosecutors called Michigan resident Michael Foy one of the “most violent” participants in the Capitol riots.

Federal prosecutors said Foy, 30, was among the most aggressive at the riot. He faces 4 felonies for allegedly assaulting police with a hockey stick.

"Foy took a leadership role: he personally attacked officers and appears to have led others into the Capitol.”
Foy, a former U.S. Marine, was arrested at his home on Jan. 21, where police found the hockey stick he allegedly used to attack police. No prior criminal record.

Judge denied Foy’s request to be released on bond Monday, declaring him a danger to the community and himself. ImageImageImage
