Still reflecting on a Grand Rounds presentation by @TaraLaguMD last week on people with disabilities as an unrecognized health disparity population. And how there needs to be systemic change, with attention to detecting, understanding, and reducing. #DisabilityPolicy
Those of us in #Rehabilitation who work so closely with those with disabilities may underestimate challenges with access to preventive, primary, and specialist care. But we also have so much specialized knowledge to support systemic change.
As an example, @BarbaraKornblau has done amazing work in this space re. recognition of people with disabilities in the ACA. And there is so much more to do to increase #HealthEquity.
