‘Well done, thou good and faithful servant.’
Matthew 25:21 KJV
1. When you stand at the judgment seat of Christ, you’ll have one final opportunity to hear the word ‘good’: ‘Well done, good & faithful servant.’ Note, He doesn’t say well thought, or well intentioned, but well done! You’ll be rewarded for what you do. On that day, God will zero
2..in on your actions, not your opinions or intentions. Goodness shd be the last thing you think about when you go to bed & the 1st thing you think abt when you wake. Bible says, ‘Even small kids are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure & upright?’ (Prov 20:11)
3. You know what you’re really like on the inside, but the only you others see is from the outside. One Christian leader writes: ‘Talk is cheap. No matter how much you claim to be a good person, the only public measuring stick is your actions. You may think that by being good..
4...you’re not doing a lot of good. But never underestimate the power of even 1 person to exert tremendous influence by simply doing the right thg, at the right place, at the right time.’ Mother Teresa always shied away from the limelight. She saw herself as a servant, not a star
5. Her greatest desire wasn’t to be famous, but to be faithful. As a result, she ended up touching the lives of multitudes even though her only thought was to help the next hurting person. Among her favourite Scriptures were these words given to us by Christ: ‘Truly I tell you,..
6...whatever you did for one of the least of these…of mine, you did for me’ (Matthew 25:40 NIV). So today, seek to do good.
During the time of the slave trade between the 15th - 18th century, the enslavers who captured slaves in home raids and sold them off were not the merchant ships from Europe, they were locals who worked for rich and influential people (many of them leaders) in the community.
While the plantation owners in the South of America were the ultimate culprits, there was a value chain of oppressors starting with enslavers to merchant ships to distribution hubs. Granted that the opportunity for profit was there, but if there were no local enslavers, there...
...would not be a slave trade. It is always the tendency of human nature to search for the enemy without. To find someone else to blame for our misfortune. In Africa, what we don't understand, we mystify. So it must be the old witch in the village that is preventing my conception
‘You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.’
Matthew 25:23 NIV
1. To succeed in life you need thick skin when it comes to handling criticism. It’s what separates those who say they want success from those who are prepared to pay for it. For example, if you’ve been praying for a mate to share your life, ask yourself if you’re prepared for the
2...sacrifice and responsibility that comes with marriage. Are you stable? Are you unselfish? Are you mature enough to provide for a family? Or if you’re asking God to increase your business, are you providing outstanding service to your existing clients? Someone quipped: ‘
1. Prayer is simply communicating with God. And communication can be spoken or silent. It can even be expressed in song. Many of the psalms are just prayers set to music. Prayer is connecting with God. Whether it’s confessing a sin, praising His name, pursuing His will,..
2..interceding for a friend, or petitioning for your own needs, your prayer must be God-centred, never self-centred. Sincere prayer comes from a heart that longs for God to reveal what He desires. So u must allow adequate time for listening & waiting intently before your heavenly
In May 2018, I did the thread below to draw attention to the fact that many States were not compliant with the requirements of the Pencom Act. I am afraid to say that nothing much has changed. Most Civil Servants in States will retire without a Pension. #StateOfStates#PensionNG
There is an entire GPZ (NE) that is almost 100% non compliant. The only thing 3 States (Adamawa, Gombe & Taraba) can point to as an achievement in 16 years since Pencom Act was passed is that they've enacted CPS law. No Pension Bureau, No CPS Remittance, No Actuarial evaluation.
‘Words from the mouth of the wise are gracious, but fools are consumed by their own lips.’
Ecclesiastes 10:12 NIV
1. Aesop, the famed author, said, ‘No act of kindness, no matter how small, ever is wasted.’ As one pastor writes, ‘It costs to be unkind, but it pays to be kind.’ Now, being kind doesn’t mean tolerating wrong or refusing to confront a problem in order to be politically correct.
2. Sometimes we must confront. But it should always be done in a gracious way. A calm demeanour will go a lot further than a harsh comment or an ugly tone of voice. You can make your point with a kind spirit, and even a sense of humour. Don’t be like the man who was standing in..
